    Hiya Stuie,

You dont ned to do anything back here apart from get a certified copy of your certificate from here - http://www.clarkcountynv.gov/depts/Recorder/Pages/OrderingMarriageCertificate.aspx

we got a couple and think they cost betweek $10-15, last october. They arrived is about 7-10 days after ordered them online!!

As for the GRO, theres no need to register with them unless you want to be able to get a copy of your certificate from them rather than from Clark County(we didnt bother as it was so easy to get from Clark..!!)

My wife changed all her names on everything with the certified certificate we got from clark county no problems!!

    Hope this helps!

just a quick money saving tip, if your in the millitary or have a millitary ID card I.E you have a MOD ID card coz you work for them, ALWAYS ask if they give millitary discount, so far we have had 20% off items in timberlands, 2 for 1 on the nyny rollarcoaster and loads of other places give 10% off even in the outlet malls.(sister got 10% off some nike trainers that aleady had 70% off)

remember ask for millitary discount, dont do what my BiL did and ask for a forces discount as they have no idea what you mean.

right time to go wake the others up and go for brekfast at the rainforest cafe :p

Yeah I got that at the south outlet, like you say ask for military discount.
Don't be conned at the outlets by a trick that makes you think a rubber bracelet has some kind of magical energy power, it is a cheap con to get $30 from you.

Some shows have military discounts as well.

    Hi

Can you share how you got this rate please as I'm in LV in August and have been looking at this hotel - the rate I can find is $119?
It is all about staying in a smaller place enough times, this will be our 9th visit to the Platinum. They remember you and reward loyalty.;)

Can you give me your thoughts on the Platinum re:

    - the swimming pool - on TA some say it's pretty small;
    - the walk to the strip - is it quite okay to stroll, even in August?
    - also what is within walking distance?
    - can i cope without a car?

    Cheers

Just emailed the Platinum and secured a Princess suite for $89 a night for August, lovely jubbly.
It really does save us trying to find "this or that" deal when all we need is in one place.

Stoneman, do you have a contact there? We've stayed a few times, and we're stopping for 4 night in September, although it's on a package (expedia) but we have 4 nights at the Rio (cancellable) before and also after - staying 12 nights total. We might consider extending the platinum deal at the right price. We've booked a princess suite strip view, so we'd have to get that room type if we extend.

For those who wonder about the Platinum - yes the pool is smallish but nice. Loungers nice and padded. Pool has indoor bit you can swim though into, so you can get out the sun for a bit too. No pressure to buy drinks poolside, they never bothered us and we took our own down. Rooms are really nice. Walk to strip is not bad at all, you can use the Bally's sports book entrance at the side if you want to get out the heat. Also handy for the Rio shuttle.

Pool is small but heated even in the summer, so like getting into a warm bath. The pool area is never crowded and except for Saturday you will have no trouble getting a nice soft comfy bed. One thing I will say is that it can be like an oven in the summer, there is a glass screen to one side that you can view the strip from, but there is no air flow around the area. We can only manage 2 hours before going into the indoor bit. there is also a jacuzzi that is in the shade most of the day.
    - the walk to the strip - is it quite okay to stroll, even in August?
As you can imagine August will be really hot, and it is a good 8 minute stroll to Ballys from the Platinum. The area looks kinda run down and you will most likely encounter some drunks sitting around but they have never pothered us, but I don't know if i would walk it at night.
    - also what is within walking distance?
Ellis Island BBQ is almost next door. There is a 7/11 and a garage right next to the hotel where you can get snacks. The Westin is across the street where you can gamble and they have a Starbucks. We walk down to P.F. Chang's for dinner, about a 5 minute walk, also there is Bahama Breeze restaurant and a Lowery's steak house within 2 minutes.
    - can i cope without a car?
Yes, and having a car can even be a bit of a pain, as you have to valet park so that means a $2 every time you need to get the car out. The bellboys will go down to the street and hail you a cab if you need one, but because of the location off strip it might take a few minutes to get one to go past.

    Cheers
