Mayoh my good thats awful can't believe they couldnt offer you a better explanation, the only thought I had was that Rihanna is playing there the weekend but that wouldn't make a difference, would be interested to see if you get a further with the issue, hope it hasnt spoilt your holiday too much, but I know how upset I would be to.0

I know Rihanna is there, but cant see how that would affect us. As it goes, I have an offer on mlife for 3 nights + 2 tickets to see her.
The manager said it was due to our length of stay (6 nights) and that there wasnt a room available for that length of time. Others were still checking in OK, in fact the guy next to me got bumped to THEhotel while we were discussing the situation. The manager claimed they had checked four seasons and THEhotel and there were still no rooms available for us. Then went on to say they couldnt offer a room at Aria, or Bellagio as it was just a 'like for like' offer hence just giving us the MGM.0 -
AugustAs far as I know they are locked to a network, but simple jailbreaking and unlocking will sort that out
There really is no point in buying one there anyway, with a bit of looking you can get a brand new unlocked one on Ebay for about £400 (less than the cost of one in the U.S.), and they all come with apple warranty, much easier to get sorted out in this country if things go wrong.
Thanks for quick reply, I'll not bother looking in Vegas0 -

Wasn't Britney Spears down that end over the weekend? I'm sure that she was advertised at Tropicana, so she might have been staying across the way (you know to fool people, so they didn't pester her there) Also there have been a few toy conventions at Mandalay next to the shark reef, as we dropped on a huge crowd of ppl going out as we were going in.
Either way, thats really shoddy of them. Doesn't matter how long you are booked in for, you shouldn't be treated as appalingly as that.BEST EVER WINS WON IN ORDER (so far) = Sony Camcorder, 32" lcd telly, micro ipod hifi, Ipod Nano, Playstation 3, Andrex Jackpup, Holiday to USA, nintendo wii, Liverpool vs Everton tickets, £250 Reward Your thirst, £500 Pepsi, p&o rotterdam trip, perfume hamper, Dr Who stamp set, steam cleaner.
comping = nowt more thrillin' than winnin':T :j0 -

That is really bad, not had it happen to me before and we stay in 1 hotel for at least 7 nights (MB included) what a ridiculous thing to say its because of staying 6 nights.
Did you book direct with the hotel?
Not sure they would have been happy to have me in the reception area after they delivered that news.......not impressed!
Hope you can enjoy the rest of your hol x0 -

We stayed at MB when Justin Timberlake was on and Britney was opening LAX in Luxor the same weekend, not surprisingly both of them together didn't manage to fill the hotel and we still did $20 trick and got an upgrade.
I find it really bizarre that they couldn't accommodate you and were so rude and indifferent about it.0 -

Mgm is like for like Mandalay Bay......great way to devalue your MB brand from the Manager himself......I thought it was way better than Mgm.....there goes the premium prices they like charging for MB. Hit twitter m8.illegitimi non carborundum0 -

That is shocking, not had it happen to me so dont know what to advise
Maybe post on some more threads
Vegasmessageboard for one and do MB have a facebook page?
MB and MGM are not like for like IMO and isnt it normal in Vegas/USA to upgrade if things go wrong.
As you say I cant believe they couldnt find a room even if it meant switching rooms each day/every other day etc.
Would also be good to get a prorper explanation0
