    Britney was at MGM

She was definately at Tropicana, Club Nikki. She might have stayed at MGM, but Tropicana had her on their advertising boards.

Sorry to hear about that WHD. Just goes to show how bad service has dropped over the past few years in Vegas. Could you have imagined that happening 5 years ago? You would have been put up in a nice suite somewhere and a couple of free meals to soften the blow to boot.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Unless she was doing more than one night, the concert was definitely at the mgm grand

None of that helps for the original problem though! I just went on the Mandalay Bay website and they are sold out on the 28th and 29th apparently so maybe thats why?

Very annoying and I would have expected to be treated better in that situation too.

There is a convention at Mandalay Bay Convention Centre from 29th for 5 days...but only 500 delegates expected according to LasVegas Tourism site. Seems very strange...may have missed it in replies but was Hotel booked direct or 3rd party ?

When we were there last week, there was loads of people milling around due to a convention, thats why I mentioned that as well as Britney Spears.
Still, it's absolutely no excuse for the way WHD was treated. His money is just as good as anybody elses, so why treat him with rudeness and contempt?

I agree dontone....Mandalay's actions are inexcuseable and it appears they're just fobbing people off.

I have read about hotels shifting people to other properties in the same group...though thinking about it - it seems it was always a nicer property and a bit of a win...I would also be really annoyed with getting stuck at MGM rather than MB...I can't understand why they couldn't move you back to MB for the last 3 nights or something.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

I think that is disgusting of MB and I am very surprised you didn't get an upgrade for the inconvenience. You were probably too nicer being a Brit and if you had been American, would probably have made more of a sound about it and got a better response.

I agree, I would post on their Facebook page, Twitter and also leave a review on Trip Advisor as well as posting on their forum.

It looks like your not the only one

    http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowTopic-g45963-i10-k4591937-Mandaley_Bay_wants_to_walk_me-Las_Vegas_Nevada.html

its standard practice to 'walk' guests when the hotel is full and it sounds like Vegas is really busy just now with a lot of hotels being at capacity but the way they dealt with you sounds awful - hope it doesn't spoil the rest of your holiday
If at first you don't succeed - destroy all evidence that you tried.

    sorry another question.....

Sat nav....we hire a car (7 seater but usually end up with a huge bus like thing!). It bumps the cost up by £100 if we hire one through car company (netflights) so am considering driving to walmart to buy one.

Would I get one for less than £100 (would have thought so) and do I need to be looking for any one in particular? Don't want to spend ages in walmart looking at sat navs!

    Thanks x
