We are staying at Excalibar and will have just driven back from the grand canyon that day so dont want anywhere to far away. At the moment im thinking MIX at madalay bay can also get restaurant.com voucher for it at present any thoughts?

We ate at Mix last month when we were out in Vegas and the food was lovely and a great setting, have also had an anniversary meal at Alize in the Palms and that was fantastic to. Enjoyed SW steakhouse at the wynn to, hope these suggestions help.

Ahh.. the h2b might as well be Bubbles the chimp for all the common sense he has.. but hey I'll marry him anyway.

Thanks for your input..! I'll e-mail around and see what's said.. just don't wanna be disappointed when I can't have the quintessential tacky Elvis wedding I've dreamt of!

We haven't eaten at Mix, but I have read good things about it. Could be a good deal with a r.com cert which is 80% off at the moment as posted earlier.

We had fine dining a few nights last trip. Alize was excellent, but not cheap. Our bill was $250 + tip so around $300 total and that was without wine. We just had one beer and a Coke. However there are cheaper options on the menu.

We also really enjoyed Envy which is near the Convention Centre stop on the monorail which you could catch at the MGM. The food and service were excellent and they have really good cocktails. They are also on r.com.

    Hi Julie
Not sure on the wedding question but we renewed our wedding vows with Elvis at Graceland Chapel last year. From memory, you don't need to produce wedding certificates and I'd highly recommend the experience. Not tacky and was a really good laugh. Bruce Forsyth renewed his vows there recently as part of Vegas documentary. Have a look on Youtube to get an idea.

A bit simplistic really. A senior captain with 25 years experience might make that amount.

110k will be an average value for capatians/first officers. Wages in the industry are normally quoted in dollars and in doing so it makes comparosins difficult due to currency fluctuations, but in the big scheme of things 110k is low for major European carriers.

Ok, a quick idiots guide for Stripburger in particular:

Certificates are available with a face value of $25 (off a $35 spend) or $10 (off a $20 spend). Can be used on all food, milkshakes so assume other soft drinks too but not sure about alcohol - definately excludes happy hour.

Only one certificate can be used at a time, and only one per month (in each restaurant).

For most places on restaurant.com it costs $10 for a $25 cert and $5 for the $10 one, but I think Stripburger has recently put the price up, presumably due to high demand - did I read $20 for the $25 cert somewhere on here recently?

For less popular restaurants, discount codes for up to 80% off are made available throughout the month which would reduce the typical cost of a $25 cert to as little as $2 (80% off the cost price $10), however as Stripburger certs normally sell out the day they go on sale (1st of every month) the discounts are never available. There is however a way round this, which I used successfully and posted a while ago:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=35274857&postcount=5730

Others I believe have had mixed results and found Stripburger certs to be unavailable using this method. I would guess they only make a limited number available for purchase in this way each month but can't be sure of this.

To have any chance of success using this method, I would recommend that you be on there trying to redeem the gift certificate as soon as the new stock of Stripburger vouchers go on sale, which when I did it was about 8am UK time on the 1st of the month.

    Does that cover everything?

As we only paid $2 for $25 off our meal, and only spent just over the $35 minimum, it was great value for us. If you had to pay a lot more for the cert I'm not 100% sure it would be, although the food was great so worth going to in any case. Staff there were extremely friendly and had no issues with accepting the voucher.

Using this months code (SUMMER) I have just bought 4 x $25 and 1x $50 for a tolal of $17 (almost £11) Not quite sure what I do now! lol
