JulyNo problem buying UK brands in the UK and then bringing them back.
You don't need to declare them if you are within the duty free limit of 200 per person.
They must be for personal use or as a gift. You are not allowed to bring them back to sell.
perfect, thank you luci! in which case i'll buy a box of 200 for my mum (i know, i know, i shouldn't encourage her!) before we leave and leave them in the suitcase on the way back, with receiptsFor anyone in Las Vegas on July 2nd, and who likes Rihanna, there's a Groupon USA half price ticket deal for $45 for her show at Mandalay.
hmm, that's quite tempting... though really not up my musical street, but for a good price and what's probably a great show, is tempting!0 -

Julya semi-update on the strike threat:

so looks like Monday 4 July would be the earliest date strikes could beginBranson given until Monday to avert strike action by Virgin pilots
!!!!!! Murray, Transport Correspondent
24 Jun 2011
Virgin Atlantic pilots today set a Monday deadline for boss Sir Richard Branson to settle their pay dispute or face a crippling series of strikes.
Details of a "prolonged" series of stoppages next month and building up to the height of the summer holiday season are set to be announced on Tuesday.
Long haul routes to America, Caribbean, the Far East and Australia could be at risk.
Jim McAuslan, general secretary of Balpa, the pilots' union, said: "We hope Sir Richard is listening. If he were he'd know that pilots do not want to strike but are absolutely resolute in seeing this through to a satisfactory conclusion."
Pilots, who earn up to £110,000 a year, have already voted overwhelmingly in favour of industrial action but held off announcing strike dates to allow time for more talks.
They have turned down a pay increase of four per cent this year and three per cent for each of the next two years.
Balpa represents 85 per cent of Virgin's 750 pilots. Of the 627 pilots who took part in the ballot 607 supported strike action.
A Virgin spokesman said the company had made a "fair, affordable and sustainable offer, twice the national average for UK businesses and ahead of the majority of the airline industry".
He added: "We continue to have talks with Balpa. We hope we can find a resolution."0 -

At the end of the day it's all about making a profit. VS have been chipping away at things little by little for a few years now. They used to have such a good reputation, now loads of posters on here would aviod them if they had a choice.
P.S.
I wonder if the fuel surcharge will be reduced as a result of the slump in the price of oil.:rotfl:The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. JulyHey,
The thisislondon website says that Monday is the deadline for Richard Branson to try and resolve the dispute and if it is not resolved strike dats will be announced on tuesday. Given the 7 day notice doesn't this mean the first strike date possible will be Tuesday 5th???
I am flying on 4th so hoping we will be okay.
Perhaps someone could clarify?.?....?? Getting nervous!!!!
