I feel the same about my booking at the Cosmo with Netflights, I keep thinking it is a misprice and they will try to change the price etc further down the line
One step closer. The latest email from Netflights has the supplier code on it which allows you to review your booking on the Cosmopolitan website. So far so good.0 -
November / DecemberWelcome back Pebbles, hope you had a great trip. I bet you've got an American accent you've been there that long!
Which was your fav hotel?
Thanks for the welcome back bubble.
We like the rooms at the Rio best. Orleans comes second.
Luci's room at Cosmo was lovely, but we always try to get the cheapest possible because we spend so long there. I can't see me staying in Cosmo for that reason alone. We really liked it in there.
You'll be pleased to know I am now fluent in American, but have kept my Northern accent intact.0 -
MarchFound on the vegasmessageboard a link to an article in the lasvegas sun about Vegas thrill rides
http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2011/jun/14/more-thrills/
According to the article the fremont street zipline flys 800 ft above tourists heads, I think they may have added one to many 0s
Typical PR spin, I think in reality it flys FOR 800ft above peoples heads.0 -
Or it could be 800 inches..........illegitimi non carborundum0

How have you saved the resort fees if they are included in the price you paid?
I see your point! To be honest, I'm not entirely sure whether the resort fee is included or waived as part of the contract Low Cost USA have with the Mirage (and other hotels).
However, from my point of view if I see the initial price and think "that's cheap", and then also find that there's no resort fee on top, that can only be a good thing!0 -
What price did you pay for the Mirage and what dates ?
Would be interesting to see how much you saved as I have a good deal booking direct with the Mirage in Aug
The total price (booked 2 nights ago) for my parents to stay 8 nights from 26th Sep to 4th Oct was £580, which averages out to £72.50 per night incorporating weekend rates.
So I guess if the resort fee is technically included in this rate, then the base rate would would work out to be just shy of £60 per night on average.0 -
Just got back, here is a fairly brief trip report:
Flew out with Delta from London Gatwick to Atlanta, then Atlanta to Vegas. There were six of us (me and five friends). In flight entertainment was poor on both but we didn't really mind, we were enjoying the beer! Beer was complimentary on the transatlantic flight, we must have had about six each. But on the domestic flight it wasn't free. Food was good on both.
Checked in at the Tropicana, it is seriously nice. Please don't be put off by it's old reputation. It's a seriously quality establishment ever since the refurb. Customer service is outstanding, the rooms are fantastic. Our room stunk of smoke so I rang reception and they moved us down the corridor, wasn't a problem at all. We got 3 rooms on the same floor very close to each other which we were delighted with, and they all faced the strip. Didn't try the $20 trick as I'd already been emailing the guest relations manager to sort out decent rooms beforehand.
Attractions-wise we didn't do that much; went to visit the sign (free monorail from Excalibur to Mandalay Bay then walked, my god was it hot). The sign was awesome, got some great group photos. We saw the lions at MGM Grand, saw the Bellagio fountains at night and during the day. Went to the Celtic Supporters convention at Riviera. Gambled lots, mostly No Limit Texas Hold 'Em but also a bit of roulette, blackjack, casino war, video poker, wheel of fortune etc. Over the course of the week I think we were all down but only by a few hundred dollars. I'd also highly recommend going to the magicians shop inside New York New York, the demonstrations they do are literally mental and far more impressive than anything you'd see on one of the big stage shows. Skip Coyote Ugly though, it sucks!
Restaurants were amazing, we had restaurant.com vouchers for BB Kings, Stripburger, Hussong's, Gameworks and House of Blues. Food was sensational in all five of the places, I literally couldn't pick a favourite. Took aaaages to get served in House of Blues though, but only cos it was so busy.
Weather was fantastic, too hot if anything, was going from about 37-40 degrees every day. The new pool Nikki Beach at Tropicana is really good, and there is a 24 hour jacuzzi which is really nice. When we checked out I told the woman we didn't really use any of the facilities that come with the resort fee so she just wiped it off the bill. Not bad at all! As I said earlier, customer service is incredible.
I've probably missed out a bunch of stuff but hey. Can't wait to get back next year!
EDIT: forgot to say, Halifax Clarity card didn't work anywhere, I was livid. Not sure what the problem was, I'm gonna send a furious email to Halifax now. Had to use my Nationwide, paying 2% plus a quid for withdrawals. Also went to the outlet mall that's way south of the strip, got some amazing bargains there. Getting the bus was dead easy too.0 -

On first glance that seems a lot BUT looking at the various promotions on offer at the moment the Mirage is expensive for that week compared to the week I am going in Aug, so on reflection it looks like a good deal0 -
