Thanks for the welcome back bubble.

We like the rooms at the Rio best. Orleans comes second.

Luci's room at Cosmo was lovely, but we always try to get the cheapest possible because we spend so long there. I can't see me staying in Cosmo for that reason alone. We really liked it in there.

You'll be pleased to know I am now fluent in American, but have kept my Northern accent intact.

I have a night booked in Cosmo in August, even though I will be staying off strip in a villa. We were undecided whether to stay there when we went in April but went with the cheaper option of Ballys, now wishing we'd spent that bit more and stayed at Cosmo. Would you go for as long next time, is there a next time or are you all Vegased out!:)

Trying to find a company that does carhire from one of the hotels on the strip, not the airport. Going in October and only want hire for the middle 5 days

    Thanks

Try putting Treasure Island down as the car pick up hotel. They still had a Dollar desk there after the MGM ones closed down.

How was the convention? Did the lost bhoys show up?

Who is the best contact to sort out room requests @ the trop?

However the Nationwide were the only company I know of that didn't need advised. It has been standard practise for years with most credit card companies that you should advise them and it's in the T&C's you agree to when you get the card

Neither the Post Office CC or the Clarity mention anything at all about this in their T&C's
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

To be quite honest, that is their lookout. I wouldn't be miffed at all, the CC company would have to pick up the tab. There are enough things in place these days to stop fraudulent use without us having to inform a bank that we are going abroad, if they don't want to use them then maybe they are in the wrong business. It is a different world now, people pop off to different countries at the drop of a hat, surely I shouldn't have to tell them every time I step out of my house.

i think it's a sensible procedure... my debit card was recently a victim of fraud, and someone tried to take out $300 at a US ATM. my bank immediately refused it and rang me to tell me / ask if it was legitimate.

if I told them prior to that, that I was in the US, the card wouldn't have been rejected and all would be fine.

as it was, it wasn't me who attempted the $ withdrawal... and so if they had allowed it and not had the policy of me telling them when I'm abroad, the hassle would have been even greater and my account would have been $300 down without me knowing.

    Evening folks!

Does anyone know roughly how much it would cost in a taxi to get from the strip (near Flamingo) to the car hire centre at the airport?

We need to get from Anaheim to Vegas and were definately going to fly but I procrastinated too long and Southwest prices for the times we want have gone up from $59 to $89pp  I'm just having a look at other options including the Lux Bus which would probably be cheaper overall ($68pp and would pick us up from our hotel in Anaheim so no need for a taxi to the airport), but drops off on the strip so not sure if it's worth it once you factor in the extra cost and hassle of getting from there to the airport to pick up our hire car with all the suitcases etc.

The convention was class, we weren't staying at the Riviera so we weren't taking part in the convention the whole time, but we went to the pool party. Was so funny seeing about a thousand wasted sunburnt Celtic fans in the Riviera pool. Niall McGinn was there too, got a photo with him. Apparently Stokes was there too but I didn't see him.

Try emailing Nicole Marshall nmarshall@troplv.com regarding room requests.

Well at least they got their annual bath............
