And last, just a nice photo of the Platinum pool area at night.

The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Going through some of the photos taken on our last visit. Thought some bight be interesting. One will give you a chuckle, one will make you go ahhh, and the last will make you go oooooh.

Here is what she takes for evenings on a nine night stay. No day wear is included except for the bikinis because there was no room on the bed.

Have no idea how she manages to walk the strip in those heels (louboutins?)!

one of my greatest Vegas disappointments was not getting to meet Mrs stoneman...I was very much prepared to be in awe. :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Ouch, you will be staying off strip then!!

Yeah, I have to be honest that seeing that the flights were direct had me kicking myself for forgetting to check FlightCentre at 10...then the dates made me feel better as while we would go in January, we wouldn't go during CES.

Ahh, a night out is done with precision. We decide where we are planning on going then the size of the heel is calculated. There is not alot of walking outside, somethng like valet the car at Bellagio, play a bit there, go outside over the bridge by Ballys, into Paris, out and into PH then back to Bellagio via the lights at PH.
Yes they are Loubies, she likes the classic ones though, not the skyscrapers they have now.

Have booked flights to Vegas for end of February next year for 10 days.

Can anyone advise me on whether I should book a hotel just now, or do you think there will be better deals on before then? Looking at somewhere like Ballys.

    Thanks

Definitely wait till beginning of next year. You Can have a good look at all of the offers and if you book direct with a hotel you usually pay a 1 night deposit but you can cancel for free up to 24 hours before you go.
P.S. the 24 hour cancellation thing seems to be a bit hit and miss now. Lots of hotels are requiring 3 days notice, check with each hotel when you book.

Bit of a general deal rather than Vegas specific but useful (includes the Renaisance of course so handy for Vegas too)

I booked a hotel yesterday and then got 25% off -Here's how I did it

I wanted a particular Marriott hotel I checked the prices and the noticed the Concierge level room was only about $20 more (free breakfast, evening snacks, free business services and a dedicated floor with nicer rooms) . Marriott have a price promise that if you book with them and find a cheaper rate elsewhere on-line within 24 hours -they will match the rate and reduce it by 25% ! I found both expedia and priceline had the same hotel and room type for $20 a night less. As you can book direct with Marriott and cancel without charge until the day before travel-I decided it was worth a go. I completed the on-line claim form and with in 2 hours I had their response.

Original room cost $169.95 Expedia/Priceline price $149.95 New price for room with price match and 25% discount $112.46 RESULT

Checking Marriott's site for an ordinary room (non Concierge level) for the same dates the pay in advance rate is $130 and the normal rate is $149.95 so it's quite a saving all around. Added advantage-as booked direct you pay on check out not upfront when booking as you would with expedia or PL.

That's OK if you want to walk around with a coat on all evening, and scrap frost of your car in the mornings.

Don't the valet do if for you ?
