I fly out tomorrow morning guys so I'll sign off for now! Thanks for all the advice, through this forum I've got some restaurant vouchers, a Scoot City tour and a heap of great advice for my holiday. TR when I get back!

In the meantime; the reason for my trip is to participate in Event #23 "$2,500 8-game mix" at the World Series of Poker. The tournament is on between Monday night next week and Wednesday night. You can follow my progress with hourly live chip stack updates on www.wsop.com. My name is Tom Brownlee (shhh don't tell anyone)

With masses of luck I hope to win the damn thing and bring that world series bracelet back to the UK (and the MSE forums)!

Hotels may be on the expensive side though...CES is over those dates...10th to 13th...
Ouch, you will be staying off strip then!!
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

We used to go all the time in the winter because we used to go up to Mt. Charleston and do just that. But then you could miss out if they don't get any snow. The snow maker they have only points towards the black run and then it needs a base coat of real stuff to stick. You don't need chains, just hire an SUV. Even considered staying in one of the lodges or the Mt. Charleston hotel, they both look lovely in the snow.
We stopped going because the cold nights outweighed the fun we used to have during the day.

We are heading to Mammoth for a weeks MTBing in July. At the moment they expect to have runs open. Apparently they have had something like 200% of the average snowfall this winter. I last looked at the Tioga Pass webcams a few weeks ago and you could sure see why they don't expect to have the road open until late
June. The snow walls must have been 10ft high. Getting a few turns in as well would be spot on!

I'm quite tempted by that, I've only found the Palazzo for $129 before. I have Encore booked for early Sept so that is a good deal for my dates. I've stayed at the Palazzo before and while the location is better than Encore I have no idea what the pool is like.

    Hello again

Can anyone help with a question relating to Phantom of the Opera at the Venetian?

Basically, wondering if the tickets would be the best price if bought from either Tix4tonite (if available) or via Travelzoo (or even, direct from the Box Office)?

Any suggestions as to which seats to buy would also be useful.

If anyone can help, that would be great.

    Thanks

    Hawk

Stayed at the Palazzo last year. Fantastic hotel and the rooms are great. We did find however that the pools tended to be in the shade until late morning/early afternoon. The height of the building affects them massively.

We discovered on the last day that the Venetial pools were only a bit further away and they were great with no shady spots.

Going through some of the photos taken on our last visit. Thought some bight be interesting. One will give you a chuckle, one will make you go ahhh, and the last will make you go oooooh.

Here is what she takes for evenings on a nine night stay. No day wear is included except for the bikinis because there was no room on the bed.

Next, there was a wedding going on at about 6:30 pm, there were 3 of these during our stay but I only got snaps of one. Everyone was standing on their balconies cheering the happy couples.
