Yes we would still save some cash if resort fees were separate but not much.
We already have a booking for the mirage but would spend the extra for somewhere better if we found a good deal

On another note is it easy to change travelers checks in vegas casinos? and does anyone know if they charge a fee?

Have checked a couple of sites and that price for 6 nights is def cheap (like you said) BA is close at £658 but they do say that resort fees are extra

You could book a standard suite for less and try $20 (or whatever) for a bella suite upgrade.

I would be wary of that original site including resort fees as the price seems to low

We had a reservation at Envy later that evening, WOW.........I would fully recommend that place. Service was second to none, food was awesome. The best steak I've ever had!!! It isn't cheap but well worth it. We had a $25 restaurant voucher. Would have been better with a $50 but as I say....fantastic place....Would have happily paid full price. Its slighty off strip and a taxi would be recommended (we walked on the way there but wished we hadn't) I had a Mango Mohito to drink which was to die for. I need to know how to make those :-D

we haven't been for awhile but have fond memories of the place - after Luci had such a good experience we bought a r.com voucher - so glad to hear another good review...will have to check out the mango mojito too as it sounds right up my street.

The restaurant is also right across from the Convention Center monorail stop - and there's a bus stop near there too - I think the ACE/SDX stops there but not sure...our plan is to do the Envy thing in line with our 'bus day'...a pair of return rides on the monorail would probably not cost much more than a taxi depending on the starting point.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

We used the monorail to get to Envy and the stop is really close.

Oh !!!!!!!!! Wish we'd known that but never mind. Will remember for next time.

hi all again long time no see here - need to catchup quickly! Update to previous posts, = we now have luggage cases.

can someone confirm I'm reading this correctly

    http://www.truphone.com/Global/pdf/Rates/Roaming%20rates%20-%20GBP.pdf

We will be in Vegas (zone 8) and phoning UK - zone 7. It says here its 36p per minnute.

The other sim mentioned in MSE main site is a whopping £1.99 a minute :s

It would be worth it for us to unlock my phone and use this sim as its worry free (partner will be worrying about our DD staying with her aunt)

    TIA

    hi

i don't know anything about what you've posted, but i bought a $10 international phone card and i phoned my daughter just about every day, not for long, just hi you ok? love you, speak to you tomorrow type thing. Then we used facebook to send each other longer messages. I didn't get / have my phone able to send or receive calls abroad but i could use face book on the rooms wifi. I have checked since being back (just incase) and i won't (according to orange) have any extra shocking costs to pay.:)

another general tip i've just remembered for any other vegas newbies like me is that from a pay phone you have to dial 011 44 to get to the uk. I spent ages just doing 44 and it not working before i googled it!

Are there fridges in the standard rooms at the Flamingo. I also read in a previous post that you couldn't take water to the swimming pool, so is there a bar at the pool to purchase drinks, thanks.

No fridges as I remember in the standard rooms, but we called down to housekeeping and they sent up a small fridge FOC, but that was a few years ago. You are right that you can not take water to the pool, but just go to the pool bar and ask for a cup of ice water, again FOC
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

    Thanks stoneman.

We had a great meal out at Roy's for our anniversary. The staff and food were superb. Not seen mention of it on here but well worth a visit.
