Marchwelcome back, mumto2loves! Glad you had a mostly good experience save for the Virgin flight..PE is much better than economy, but seems it's normally about 2x the cost...mumto2loves wrote: »i didn't buy any at gatwick because i'd read they were $3 a pack in vegas. we saw one petrol station (near the stratosphere) that was $3.65 but in the hotels they were $8.50 - $10.50! so i'd def recommend buying some at the airport to take with you.
I agree with this - it used to be that I would wait and buy some at a petrol station in Vegas, but the savings is now much lower than it used to be and I've just started buying at duty free on our way out...it does hurt to arrive and realise you need to buy some and end up at a casino gift shop...while there are cheaper options on the strip, it's not always convenient.
Now go get some sleep.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
The Palazzo
"Hello Paul yes alll taxes and resort fees are included, regards, Anna"
Dont know what to think now, taxes must defiantly be included as you have to pay up front for the room.
As for resort fees, their website say no but their customer service says yes0 -
AugustI saw that yet i got this reply from the email i sent

Why not post the dates so others can check some prices.
If you had to pay resort fees in Vegas would you still save?0 -
Augustmumto2loves, pleased you had a good trip. Can I ask about the Stratosphere jump? My son wants to do it, he will be 13, I read that min age is 14. Do you sign a waiver or something? I don't know why it would be 14, maybe a height requirement?.
Thanks0 -
Hello again
Can anyone help with a question relating to Phantom of the Opera at the Venetian?
Basically, wondering if the tickets would be the best price if bought from either Tix4tonite (if available) or via Travelzoo (or even, direct from the Box Office)?
Any suggestions as to which seats to buy would also be useful.
If anyone can help, that would be great.
Thanks
Hawk
We were in Vegas middle of last month for a few days and we never saw Phantom at the tix4tonite stalls, dont know if thats how it always is though...0 -
AugustHi All
We have booked for our 3rd trip to Vegas. Stopping at MGM for 10 nights.
ATM we have a suite booked direct with the hotel.
The problem I have is the confirmation e-mail does not give me a price breakdown for the whole stay only the first night.
Does anyone have e-mail address for MGM or can let me know the cheapest way to contact them from the UK?
Thanks in advance

JuneDoes anyone know why caesars is $900 before tax for a classic room on the 15th?
we've got everything sorted, except our final night, leaving on thursday 4 nights in cosmo then 2 in caesars (wedding package), still to book our final night, the 15th. We've put it off, i know... and now looks like we're going to have to change hotels for a second time.
The pricing for a wednesday seems bizarre. Flamingo, PH, Mirage, Paris and MB are all more expensive or as expensive as palazzo, venetian, aria and bellagio
Edit: thinking of staying in PH towers for 15th. One bedroom studio is $99 before tax.Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face - Mike Tyson0 -
MayWell am finally starting to feel normal again after getting home friday, just about unpacked!!!!Big thank you to all the regulars on here for some great tips and info. I will give a brief run through of our stay.Flew with Virgin so knew what to expect so wasn't too bad. Our first night was spent at the Cosmopolitan, fantastic hotel but it was full of young people, we are both 34 and did feel old lol. Tried the 20$ trick at check in but told they were full but think we did get upgraded as had only booked a city room and ended up with a massve suite and balcony overlooking the fountains, i would say its one of the nicest rooms I have ever stayed in.Saturday night we had tickets to see The Script at Mandalay Bay, I don't know how I managed to stay up, but they were great so that probably helped. It was memorial weekend when we arrived and I have never seen it so packed.Sunday woke up and it was very windy and cold so spent the day shopping ,ended up spending far too much money then checked into The Wynn where we spent the rest of our stay. Had a lovely high room overlooking the strip so was pleased with that.Sunday night we went to Ellis Island but due to the weather we had to sit inside as BBQ was closed so wasn't able to try the ribs which I was looking forward to, but steak was delicious. After there made our way to see Matt Goss. I am a big fan so have seen him many times before, managed to get a table right next to the stage but as its bottle service the rest of the night is a bit of a blur and have said am never drinking vodka again lol.Monday was spent hungover by the pool all day. loved the pool at the wynn very relaxing. Had dinner at Olives at the bellagio but wasn't that impressed really.Tuesday spent sunbathing wandering round and bit of gambling, we are not really big gambellers but think we did a bit more than last year. In the evening we met up with some friends who live in Henderson and went to PF Changs, meal was lovely.Rest of stay was probably spent doing more sunbathing, hubby did the rides at Stratosphere, I'm not that brave. Also had a fantastic meal at Mix on our last night and tried the Peppermill for breakfast. I ordered pancakes and they were the biggest I have ever seen, made me feel ill, could only manage a tiny bit, it was embarrasing to leave so much.Don't think we will go back for a few years as its hard leaving out 2 young girls for that length of time. We did have a fantastic time but can't believe how quick it went. Hope I havent gone on too long, if I remember anything else useful then I'll be sure to post!!0

just a guess, but Miss USA pageant starts that night - are the days after the 15th also relatively high?Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
November / DecemberHoping to book another part of our trip soon so I'm thinking of booking our Las Vegas to San Diego flights. We're flying on the 23rd Nov to get into San Diego for Thanksgiving. As we're only going to be there for 3 days I was thinking of booking one of the latest flights out. There's a 7.15, 9.20 and 9.55 and they're all 1 hour 5 min nonstop. I'm a bit worried though that since it's Thanksgiving the airport will be really busy and we could get stuck there. Am I just worrying too much or should we book the 7.15 just incase?0
