November / DecemberHad anyone seen this plans have been given for a 500 foot ferris wheel to be built, like the London Eye in Vegas, by the Mandalay Bay....interesting location as very near the airport and top end of strip.

We booked with CH3000 picking up at LAX and dropping off at LAS - reservation made in January 2009, so not recent...supplier was Thrifty, when I emailed to ask about one-way fees I was told Thrifty DID charge a $300 one-way fee...I was given the option to switch to Dollar (for £11 more) which didn't have a one-way fee...not saying that what NetFlights have said isn't true...just our experience (admittedly old) was different.
Do you know ferf, I think it might have actually been an old post of yours about exactly this which made me query the one way charges for Thrifty in the first place!
Netflights T&C *seem* pretty clear that there is no charge within California/Nevada/Arizona, but I just don't trust big companies sometimes, especially when someone has definately had a different experience. I know their procedures could have changed in the couple of years since you booked but it is making me twitchy as the last thing we want is to get there and get stung by a massive extra charge.
I can't find anything at all about one way charges on Thrifty's own website to double check which is annoying - might email them directly though and see what they say. We could I suppose take a print out of netflights terms which state there is no additional charge, but not sure that Thrifty would take any notice of that if it turns out it isn't correct.0 -
AA ocosts less than a tenner to join for a year if you use a cashback site.
Can I ask what might be a really stupid question but something I've been wondering about recently? Do you need a certain level of AA membership to be entitled to this kind of discount, or to say the discounts on hotels which members of the AA / AAA are entitled to in the US?
Their basic roadside assistance cover is only £28 so like you say, under £10 total with cashback (currently £19 from TCB). If we could get a AAA rate on just a couple of hotels in the states (often a 10% saving) I reckon we could make that back easily, thus getting the AA cover basically for free, but that seems like such a no-brainer I feel like I must be missing something!0 -

Doesnt matter - so long as your contract states free one way NV CA AZ, Netflights will refund you when you get home.illegitimi non carborundum0 -

I agree that Netflight's T&Cs seem clear, and could be that something has changed since our experience...agree with Froggit that if you have a confirmation stating no one-way fee then if you are charged locally for it, Netflights should sort it out for you.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Well got back from my 6 day visit to Vegas yesterday.......me and the missus took a right beating on this tip! lol
Managed to recover some on the last night by hitting a double heart Q's on blackjack in the flamingo, only time ever i prayed for the dealer to hit 21! (1000/1 instead of 120/1) still i made back $1000 that night, although not close to covering my loses it will act as spending for a later trip somewhere.
Loved the Flamingo GO rooms, always stayed in TI on previous visit's as they comp most of my room/room charges but defo enjoyed the feel of the flamingo more than TI.
Although i have decided this will have to be my last visit for a good few years and the next 1 will be shorter (6 days is just to long for me)0 -
