Most people here seem to have used Crown, who went spectacularly t1ts up last year.
IMHO, use TEG or whoever is the best rate these days, and physically go there with your pounds, and take away your dollars. Im going to their Strand shop next week. I dont think theres any real protection out there if you pay in advance.....even if they send them by post next day or load it onto a card....theres still that window of opportunity to go same way as Crown.illegitimi non carborundum0 -
Maywon't tell my husband about UFC the weekend we arrive in Vegas then, remember him going on about it last year when we were there, I'll just tell him tickets will be far too expenisve, which they probably will be!!0

Marchstayed mgm 2 years ago was a free safe in every room decent size under the tv in a cabinet, had to enter a 4 digit pin fot it you set yourself
Whilst the room safe is a good start, I always take a deposit box out at the casino cage (usually free if you're staying in the location). I always put my credit cards, excess money and flight home tickets in it, keep my passport with me for I.D.
Benefits for me, it stops me having too easy an access as well as stopping OH raiding it for those essential impulse buys.
As important if all else fails and the room did get turned over I still have the means to get home without the grief of trying to sort things out.
I don't know how travel insurance companies would take a view on lost money/ valuables from a room safe?
Most I've used have been big enough to take a netbook, ipods and the like, saves leaving them in the room etc.
I feel more comfortable doing things that way and I suppose that's what counts.0 -

Bump. I'm trying to get my head round Restaurant.com too. Any recommendations pls - where's not to be missed on a first trip to LV?
I'm not going 'til December - would you recommend that I buy vouchers now while it's 80% off?

JuneFlight Stuff - Virgin - Seats
Some info please peeps...
Me and my girl are flying with virgin to vegas on the 747-400. I got us booked into seats 61A & C.
My dad is now coming, so i got him in Seat 60D (opposite us).... Is it worth sticking like that, or changing to the row of 3 seats.. which is: Row 37 A, B & C...
Seatguru says theres some drawbacks on those seats, but i cant figure out what that would be ? is it a drawback so its not as good as a standard seat ??
I guess its closer to the front door so not last off the plane0 -

One place I always visit is Maggiano's, it's right by the fashion show mall. Italian is the cuisine it's not overpriced and the portions are huge. You can order small portions and even then they're enough to share. No problem or embarrasment in sharing and the staff will warn you about portion size when ordering.
My favourite is the clam linguine, spiked with lot of garlic.....mmmmm. I'm not a small guy and a decent eater, having a starter I've never made it to desert.
Cheese cake factory at Caesers is wonderful.
Fatburger totally disgusting but totally moreish. I understand Stripburger is also well recommended.
I prefer IHOP over Denny's for a pancake brekkie.
Steaks, Wolensky's is a bit expensive and imho pretty much any steakhouse is good. I've eaten in the Excalibur, v nice, Binions likewise. But the steakhouse in the Golden Nugget is more expensive but has a more intimate atmosphere. The onion ring starter is about the size of a brieze block. When they serve your steak you are asked to cut into it to ensure it is to your standard and liking and no hesitation in changing it if it isn't.
Chinese is either the Asian restaurant at the Orleans or Ping Pangs at the Gold Coast. The Gold Coast also has one of those diner style fast food chinese counters where it's quick to grab a decent bite before a show.
But overall my 1st choice is Maggianos'...making me hungry now.0 -

your in the much sought after 2 on their own seats . don't give them up !! unless your really want to sit right on top of your dad for 10 + hours .
getting off the plane fast often does you few favours as if your first in queue for Immigration , you wait for your bags anyway . getting off somewhere around the middle is neither here nor there .
sitting 2 on their own is worth the extra wait at customs ...always IMOBetter in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0
