AugustThanks for all the replies.....we are really looking at the MGM and Mandalay bay but have been looking on lowcostusa (another great find from this forum) and found what look like great deals on those 2 hotels which are hard to ignore.
imperial palace - £208 or £229 for 7 nights
nugget - £337 or £365 for 7 nights.
MGM is a couple of hundred more and Mandalay more again.....although we would like a bit more luxury and a nice pool is a must for me.
Yes this is our first trip and we will have a car if that makes any difference.
We are also considering spending 3 nights in 1 hotel and 4 in another...is thata good idea or better to stay in one location?
Its cheap for a reason, pool is rubbish, position is spot on. but those prices are not that geat, IP is reg available at less than $30 a night.
MGM shouldnt be £200 more, rooms there are often $55 a night, but I cant remember when you are going.
I havent seen MB cheap for a while
I always split my hol up into different hotels, sometimes 3 in 12 nights, IMO its a good idea0 -
Augustre: kids in casino
there is a fantastic post somewhere on tripadvisor forums about this, unfortuantely i cant find the link!! w(was on my bookmarks but have been clearing up my browser)
try googling it see if you can find it
rule one as far as i remember, and is quite true is that you don't kid yourself into thinking that las vegas is child/infant friendly. it's not. there are going to be things that are going to be difficult
The only difficult things are going to bars and clubs and loitering in casinos.
No other problems taking kids
Re Bellagio and Wynn, no probs walking through either resort with kids although havent tried it in a stroller0 -

Well we are just waiting for the UFC date to be confirmed but at the min we are planning on going 23rd may to the 30th0 -
MarchLesnar fights in July, 125 is in Feb nothing much more than that in the schedules. UFC is a high priced ticket, more so that most of the boxing ones, a good place to keep a check on is the fight section of lasvegassun.com or the sports section of lvrj.com, regular fights are staged at the Silver Nugget in NLV, a bit of a scary environment full of good ole boys.
The IP was scheduled to be the next Harrahs property to be redeveloped but the reccession saw to that. Don't forget the IP doesn't have a resort fee the MGM does which will add to the cost. The emperors buffet does not have a good rep. The waitresses are for such a dingy location pretty hot. The rooms at the back of the casino on the way to the carpark resemble the Bates motel and are noisy as hell. Don't get a strip room as some of them have neon blasting in like some B&W 50's movie and can be noisy also. But the casino itself I like with the small poker room one of my favourites. Earn decent comps on your Total rewards too.0 -

From all the comments IP doesn't sound like a place for me. Will forget that one. Cheers guys
Yeah the UFC isn't confirmed yet but the last 3 years they have held one on memorial weekend. There are rumours of fights emerging this week so looks like its a goer. Would like to know before I book but may take a punt and book it anyway.0 -
just a quick reminder that the new MGM 'players club' ( mlife.com... NOT !!!!!! Froggitt!!
) website has gone up today - first sensible move is to remove the rediculous use of your players card as a login, and replace it with your email address!
I have a LOT more offers sitting in there than what I used to have on the old site (tho not ascertained whether they're any good or not yet!!)
ie. got 1 free night @ Mandalay Bay in there, got $39 a night @ NYNY in there and quite a lot of discounted rates!0 -
AugustRe children in Wynn and Bellagio
I have visited both hotels to eat at the buffet with my children ( 9&13) with no problems. I did ask at Bellagio as there was a sign regarding children and I read it as they weren't allowed in if not a guest but was told they were fine if eating at the hotel.0 -
Marchjie. got 1 free night @ Mandalay Bay in there,
Me too! Plus $25 freeplay. I am excited as we have never gotten anything other than discounted rates at Monte Carlo before.
Unfortunately, they still havent made it so you can book them online, you have to call...which annoys me a bit...but still, suspect a double-booking at MB is in our future in March!
OK, and booked - limited availability in March, but oddly managed to get a Friday...weird!Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
