    Hi,

Sorry if this has been asked but there is too much info to go through.

Looking to book up for august in the next month or so and have picked hotels flights etc and just need to decide whether to book trip myself over the net or go through a travel agent.

I can book it around £300 cheaper myself through the net however when i goto book hotels through the web it tells me about the resort fee at the confirmation page which i will have to pay on check out which is fine but the travel agent says I wouldnt have to pay for these if i book through them? is this possible?

If no resort fees apply to the travel agents quote then I will book through them for the added security.

    Cheers

Would really advise you to keep away from the travel agents you will save so much, following the tips on here, still early for deals for august which is often good for deals, you could book something refundable for now then keep an eye out for some deals nearer the time.

What hotel or hotels are you looking at have you checked places such as lowcostusa which is normally very good for the high end hotels

    Flight Stuff - Virgin - Seats :)
    Some info please peeps...
Me and my girl are flying with virgin to vegas on the 747-400. I got us booked into seats 61A & C.
My dad is now coming, so i got him in Seat 60D (opposite us).... Is it worth sticking like that, or changing to the row of 3 seats.. which is: Row 37 A, B & C...
Seatguru says theres some drawbacks on those seats, but i cant figure out what that would be ? is it a drawback so its not as good as a standard seat ??
I guess its closer to the front door so not last off the plane :)

Seat guru tells you why they are flagged if you hover over the seats with your mouse...in this case, I think it's proximity to the lavatories...people will gather there. People will lean on the back of your seat...you may have the odour of the lavatory to contend with as well, though arguably this could be the same with those at the back.

Like Trets, I wouldn't give up a pair myself.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

It may be possible that part of that £300 is the agent pre-paying the resort fee I suppose...normally it's collected by the hotel...plenty of people have thought or assumed that the resort fee was alread dealt with when it wasn't. If you go that route, I would get it in writing from the agent that the total includes all resort fees and if you are charged for them the agent will refund you in full.

Out of curiosity - what added security will you have booking through the agent in this case?

at the moment we are also booked in seats 61 A and C when we go. I am more than happy to have the 2 seats on their own and am not worrying about being at the back of the immigration line!!

Im looking at the 4 star hotels like luxor, cesars, new york, mirage etc. Hoping to keep to about £1200 for the accomodation for 2 weeks. Im thinking of booking my BA flights just now and waiting till nearer the time for the hotels.

The added bonus of booking myself would be getting about £150 back through quidco!:)

I think I will ask them for confirmation if i book through them, I assumed you would have more cover booking it as an "all in one" incase something went wrong etc but mabey not?
