  • We are gradually putting together the pieces for our stay in June this year. Decided to stay at a few different places that we have experienced on our previous visits.

So far we are going with 4 nights at the golden nugget. After this there will be a 5 day stint somewhere (more on this in a minute) then we are at Planet Hollywood for 3 nights before finishing off with 5 nights at NYNY. Even now, 6 months before we go prices seem to be pretty damn cheap. This time Ive left the missus with the job of choosing when/where we're gonna stay and she's not doing too bad so far. Got PH for 3 nights over a weekend for under $100 a night, and the 5 nights at NYNY she got for about $300.

Now, the 5 night stint in the middle of all this is currently not organised. Tonight while flicking around a few links to 3rd party sites on here I have found via lowcostusa.co.uk what seems to be something that is too good to be true.

Aria for 5 nights from june 19th is coming up at £372 total price, if paid in full now. ($600ish) pricing up the same stay via the aria website is coming up $1120 before they add the resort fee. even !!!!!!.com's discounted rate comes up at over $900

So a couple questions, well maybe more.

    1. how reliable are lowcostusa/cityandshow
    2. how does the Aria rate amongst the other similar properties
    3. would you book this at this price
    4. when they say 'total price' does this include the resort fee
that's enough questions for now. ta very much

    1. We have booked City and Show as have others on here with no problems. They do seem to get very good prices for upmarket hotels.
    2. Check Trip adviser
    3. Yes
    4. Give them a ring!
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

I think I will ask them for confirmation if i book through them, I assumed you would have more cover booking it as an "all in one" incase something went wrong etc but mabey not?

I'd check that you would be booking "all in one" as people have found before that they hadn't booked a true package.

I'm not sure what extra protection there would be if you book using a CC for the flights - protection if the airline goes bust - and hotel direct with the hotel on a refundable offer, or a 3rd party with good cancellation terms...most potential loss there would (I think) be 3 nights hotel cost if your flight didn't go and you had to cancel the hotel at the last minute (and I'm not sure if the hotel would charge you for the full 3 nights, maybe less).

I'm not saying that there wouldn't be an additional protection, others know more about this than me...but for simple flights + US hotel, I don't really see what additional coverage a package holiday offers.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

hmmm, this seems a bit of a bargain - especially if you're off in the next few weeks!!:

Not sure if its any use to people going when its expensive in March either (Triker?)

And an even better bargain.......looks like the nightly rate when you stay for a month is..........$56. Cracking deal.

And remember, if you want more rooms, if you can get two together, they have an "outer door" that becomes the main door and you leave the "inner doors" open......in effect becoming a huge suite.

Hmmmmm. Has anyone here investigated buying a "room" in Vegas, eg they are selling CityCenter now.....Mandarin, Vdara and Veer.....maybe as part of a group with the intention to rent it out.

Over the last few pages, myself and a few others have been talking about lowcostusa. I've also booked an incredibly good offer for the Cosmopolitan for end March. I would "normally" always book direct with the hotel but it was a £300 saving! I've been able to pay £99 deposit and the remainder is due 4 weeks before arrival, so the risk to us is only 4 weeks. The general concensus is that they are legit, sister company of cityandshow and rated by people on trip advisor. I couldn't pass up the offer. We figure we'll keep checking deals til the payment is due and if we find better or we feel uncomfortable with it, we'll forfeit the £99. I also checked other hotels for our dates through them and they were much the same as the direct price, but Cosmo was miles cheaper. I expect they block booked when prices were cheaper, as overall, the rates for Cosmo have gone up since they opened.
Don't know about price incl resort fee, as Cosmo doesn't have one.....

    I arrive on 26th March.....
Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!
