November / DecemberThe PH pools are in a large area at the front. There are two pools, both are raised up from the main area. It's not the most pretty pool area, but last time we were there, plenty of sunbeds to be had, and not crushed together like some are. Sometimes only one pool is open, but at this time of year they both will be.0

MarchJust been doing some, er, slot research on tube of you and come across a Queen slot that looks rather fun. I've added it to my "slots to try" list
BTW the name of the person who posted it is ferf1223. Is it the same helpful person as is on here?
Just wondering, because they did rather well :T
We do slot research on youtube too.Check out the ones for Alice's Adventures in Wonderland - my new favorite.

Junehaha! Yes, well, it was my husband playing and filming...that wasn't his best win though - he played it at Encore the same trip and had (we think, would have to reread the trip report to know for sure) 6 retriggers - so by the end he'd had 140 spins...took over 30 minutes for the whole bonus. He didn't win tons - it triggered on the rescue spin, but it was memorable. The Queen machine is getting harder to find though - seems to have gone from some places that had it before...Encore is down from 4 to 2 or was in March. Weird how some slots have such limited lifespans and others live on for years.

Oh boo on the Queen slot. It looked a lot of fun too. I have to be honest and say that I prefer more traditional slots like "triple lucky" and "wild cherry" IYSWIM. I also love video poker. DH is the video slot fan, so he asked me to make a list as to what looked the most fun. He couldn't understand why I kept looking at slot bonus clips on there till he realised that I could suss out what looked good to play.
Star Wars is a definate, doubt if we'll go on the Lord Of The Rings one, that looks pants.
Will check out the Alice one though, thanks :TBEST EVER WINS WON IN ORDER (so far) = Sony Camcorder, 32" lcd telly, micro ipod hifi, Ipod Nano, Playstation 3, Andrex Jackpup, Holiday to USA, nintendo wii, Liverpool vs Everton tickets, £250 Reward Your thirst, £500 Pepsi, p&o rotterdam trip, perfume hamper, Dr Who stamp set, steam cleaner.
comping = nowt more thrillin' than winnin':T :j0 -
MarchLord of the Rings is mostly pants...we were so excited about it 2 trips ago and it was so disappointing...but played one at Bill's in March and hubby got loads of bonuses - he didn't win a lot, but he had a lot of fun. I love video slots - it's most of what we both play - occasionally we'll play a 3-reel slot but I find them boring after a short while - but that's just personal preference and I know lots of people that love the 3-reelers.
You can probably find Queen still - it's just that there were noticeably fewer in March than October.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
last year there were a couple of queen slots at NYNY right down the other end of the casino near the nightclub entrance. there were also a couple at the mgm grand but considering the place is so bloody big i couldnt give and exact location, from what i remember they wasnt too far from the elevators we used.0

can someone please help? I'm demented looking for sub £1000 flights (total price for 2 people) from LV to Manchester. I want to go as directly as possible, are there any "best days" to get cheap flights?? anyone know any carriers that do this route direct??
Been looking for absolute weeks. Found a great flight to Gatwick but have to change to Heathrow to get the plane back to Manchester
I found some really good fares recently on lastminute.com and Opodo from Manchester to either Las Vegas or LA.
We were looking into various options but ended up with a return from MAN to LAX with Air France via Opodo for £517 each less a bit of cash back...worked out about £510pp which was the best I'd seen for ages. Just one change in Paris then straight to LA which I don't think is too bad. I'm pretty sure there were similar options on Vegas routes with Delta/Air France/whoever else is in their alliance.
Oh, this was for September by the way, not sure when you're thinking of going?
Having a look on Kayak is a good place to start and will highlight any cheap deals - the flights we got were something like £680pp if we'd booked direct with Air France and I'd never have found them looking at all the sites separately myself.
Edit: Just had a look on lastminute and for some random dates in September there are sub-£500 flights available MAN-LAS with Delta/Air France - kind of crappy flight times (you come home at the crack of dawn on the way back) but maybe worth it if they were the only option in your budget. I love the flight times we found as we don't fly back until 9pm from LA so got a whole extra day there but that was just total luck finding them for a good price.0 -
MayHi,
I also love playing the queen machines. When the music blares out when you get a feature, its brill! We played it alot in the MGM last year but these have been removed now. We got back yesterday & we were talking to one of the locals who told us that these machines were paying out to often, and that's why they were removed from the property.
He advised us that the only one he knew of was in the Venetian. We went in pursuit of it, found it and played it. It took ages to get a bonus feature & didn't pay out much when it did.
I was satisfied that I'd had a go on it & then left it behind.
My fav this year was sex and the city. I would say that 7 or 8 times out of 10 I would play on these, get a bonus and come off when I was up. This game kept us on shopping this trip ha ha! We generally did best when we played only one game, 50cent bets. The best one was hubby's last go on a 50c bet, won the shoe bones & dropped $222. Big high fives there & bought plentry in Abercrombie the next day 0 -

The missus is desperate to know if they are still there
Ta very much
Yes the Bank Buster slots are still there in the same place.\
Didn't see any Queen slots this year although we have the past couple of times. American Idol and Wheel of Fortune seem to be in favour at the moment.0 -
Thanks for the responses, I checked them out and another one:
https://www.webjet.com (not the .au.com version) - managed to get flights to Manchester for £945 for the 2 of us with Virgin Atlantic.
They are direct to Gatwick, then you change to Heathrow at a cost of £76 in the taxi (or Nat. Express for cheaper but I would _pale_ on a coach) and get the BMI connect up to Manchester.
For a lot less faffing you could just skip the BMI flight and jump on a BA flight to Manchester from Gatwick for £71 for the 2 of us all inc. We're doing this. The thought of a possible traffic jam on the M25 after a longggg flight gives me shudders.
Incidentally, anyone know how long the flight is LV to UK?
I am so excited now it is booked! Never been before! Been reading the first couple of posts on this thread and spent hours on Tripadvisor too.
Bit disappointed by some of the cirque du soleil reviews on Tripadvisor, a lot say it is mainly dance not acrobatics. I really wanted to see Beatles Love but might try and see if there is one with more acrobatics - anyone know??
Thanks for all your help

Our last flight back was 9 hours...we're always surprised when they give the flight time as we always expect it to be longer.
Love is more dance than acrobatics, that's true - but it's still a stunning show, my favorite of them. Mystere is more acrobatic...Mystere is probably the most acrobatic-focused of them, thinking about it...O is cool with the water element, been so long since we have seen it - I want to go again and see if it lives up to my recollection of it. Ka has acrobatics, and a cool stage...but I still think Mystere is the most acrobatic of them...I think. But Mystere has the baby that annoys the heck out of some people...so...we saw Love and Mystere, 2nd time on both for us, 1st for my in-laws...in that order. Big mistake as Love is much more of an immersive sort of experience...so Mystere was a bit blah a couple of nights after Love.
Cirque is very subjective - we've all said it before...one show is loved by some, and hated by others.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
