AprilHiya
Just back from a terrific 8 days in LV - 2nd visit & even better than 1st one!! 1st 4 days at the Cosmo which was fab by all means - then 4 days at the Encore!! But have to say, the Encore eclipsed the Cosmo in Service, Style & Quality!
Anyway reason for my post!! Me being a numpty bought a meal voucher for Hashagogo from Travelzoo before i went (details here http://www.travelzoo.com/local-deals/deal/1294) It wasnt till i got there i found out M resort whilst on LV Bvd, its is actually about 30 mins drive away!! So with no car, the voucher remains unused!!
If any of you are travelling beofre Oct and are driving out there & could possibly make use of this voucher, PM me & its yours!!
Cheers
PS - Would prefer to see this go to a regular contributor (not a lurker like me)

JulyYou joined in a discussion about travel insurance by letting everyone know you worked for the UK's largest insurer and snidely remarking you were wasting two minutes of your life by feeding a troll.
Yet when asked a simple question about your company with whom you have worked for nine years you're unable to answer it.
Insurance companies never publish details about the number of policies and claimants they have for a very simple reason - it would spell out very clearly that statistically most insurance is a complete waste of money other than giving peace of mind.
As I've pointed out previously anyone is entitled to make whatever choice they want but inane and infantile abuse doesn't really add much to the debate.
This is a forum about Las Vegas travel - I've called your bluff.
anyone else's irony radars going ballistic?
anyway, I think we're all bored now.
buy TI if you want (recommended by the majority), don't if you don't (recommended by the minority).
so, back on track... has anyone eaten at restaurants in the Tropicana? hoping to get Gladys Knight tickets and thinking of eating there beforehand if there's anywhere recommended by you good folk0 -
MayWe had a tasting menu at Biscayne in the Tropicana which was pretty good. Small portions with wine pairings and we would do it again if there weren't so many other places we have plans for.0

MayWe are going back for our 2nd trip on Wednesday.......I know what to expect this time & we are so excited :j0

MayYeah yourself and Duchy have certainly put me off the idea, will keep it in mid for other destinations however.
Sadly that's the one folly of my trips so far, I haven't signed up for the players clubs in the casinos, will be doing that as soon as I get there this time. Just tended to ignore it out of just sheer ignorance to what it offered, will miss out on deals sadly because of this.
r
PL is great for other places I've used it coming out of Vegas for LA (centry City), Anaheim for Disney (got the same hotel 2 years running -good thing we liked it) Salt Lake City amongst others as well as Cleveland, NYC,Newark, Boston etc as well as London and Cardiff and Heathrow amongst others over here. I've mainly got Hiltons and Crowne Plazas all at least 50% off the best rate I could get elsewhere. Check out https://www.biddingfortravel.com to see others winning bids and learn about "free zone" bidding.
As for the players clubs-I was the same-I consider myself a moderate gambler and never bothered much. I had a card at the Orleans and used to get a few dollars credit in cash and then on about my 4th trip there a friend advised me to go ask a host for casino rate before I checked out. My already bargain rate was slashed to almost nothing and when I got home I started reading up. The next trip I stayed for free
My next trip was the only time I tried PL -as I wanted to be mid or south Strip for a short stay-I messed up the bidding and ended up North Strip at the Riviera. I was really depressed but hey it was only somewhere to sleep-as it happened I loved the Old Vegas feel of the Riv-and when I checked in on my bargain bucket rate -they gave me a free upgrade unasked to a one bedroom suite with balcony -a few months later I emailed their sales dept saying how much I had enjoyed the stay and could they offer me any kind of rate -and they comped me the 3 nights I wanted plus gave me $50 food credit. No suite upgrade this time but I was upgraded to a superior room which was really nice.
Now I've learned to keep my gambling to one group mainly and use Total rewards -last year I went twice staying at the Flamingo for one trip and Ceasars Palace the other -and a single night when I decided to arrive a day early at the Rio -all were comped. Next week I have a night a Ceasars on Monday comped (a Forum room so a nice level) before going off to Idaho and returning for a further three nights also free -I also have reservations for July -at the Flamingo comped already. Total rewards show your profit and loss statement online-last yeat I "lost" $200 which is less than my first night at Ceasars would have cost me on Monday ! I've also had about a hundred in comped meals using my total reward points.
Couple of years ago I took my friend to Vegas-she'd never been before and we visited just about every casino as she wanted to see what freebies she could get-we got some kind of "free money" or gift just about everywhere -and the Rio invited her to their free slots tournament the next day -as a well trained friend she asked if I could play in it too.........and I came 4th winning $350 :T
Go get those player cards !!!:rotfl::rotfl:I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

MarchWell, a couple of regular posters here (a fairly limited sampling of Brits holidaying in Vegas) have had cause to call upon their travel insurance while in Vegas...so...Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
-
AugustAs others have said it makes no sense to go to the USA without a £30 to £40 policy in place, it could cost you your house otherwise.Of course you may not need the policy at all but that is one hell of a gamble0
-
MarchI travel extensively. I'm careful. My flights are never cancelled. I don't get drunk and fall in front of a car. I don't need travel insurance although it happens to come with my Plat Amex.
Yeah I've got this too, it covers all family members travelling with you and covers you worldwide, so you are insured.DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08
