I last went in August 2009, is it possible that my ESTA from then is still valid?
Yeap - they are valid for two years from your applicationMarried in Vegas - 25th October 2011!

MarchI would always get insurance but especially for Vegas because its a unique city of 24 hour very cheap drinking....for people who are simply not used to 24 hour very cheap drinking.
Those sirens I hear daily (when I'm there) aren't a show for the tourists you know....
If you can afford a show, a bit of gambling, the flight, then you can afford the insurance...your choice.
Plus this is MSE, so you can be pointed in the direction of a decent insurance deal.DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

MarchIt's also a matter of choice but, as I've said before, respect the right of people to make their own and not become abusive and disrespectful simply because their choice is different from yours.
I completely agree that it's a matter of choice - but I think that someone who obviously hasn't considered the options (in asking in the first place) needs to have more info than 'I've never had it, it's a con'. As for the abusive and disrespectful thing...really, glass houses/stones and all?Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Hi everyone! Very quick question - has anyone flown Delta from Manchester to Las Vegas recently? I'm looking at their flight that changes in Atlanta and like the seating arrangements (2-3-2) but can't work out what the IFE situation is on the MAN-ATL leg.
According to SeatGuru for this particular flight number / plane type "...Currently, Economy Class features overhead LCD screens throughout the cabin, but Delta is in the process of updating Economy class with AVOD..." Anyone know how far through this 'process' they are and what the chances are of getting anything but an overhead screen on this flight in September? Also SeatGuru shows that the ATL - LAS leg does have AVOD - can anyone confirm if this is definately the case?
Alternatively there's a MAN - JFK - LAS route, also with Delta, but as it apparently uses a 757 / 737 rather than the 767s on the ATL route, all the seating is 3-3. As there's only the two of us we do prefer to get a pair of seats if possible, and I dislike single aisle planes generally (always someone in the way when you need the loo!) so my preference would I think be the flight via ATL, but just wondered whether anyone here has any first hand experience of either flight?
Just bumping this up in case anyone has any ideas??0 -

I know this isn't really that recently but thought it may be some help. We flew MAN-ATL-LAS last September. The transatlantic leg had overhead tv's, whilst the domestic leg had seat back tv's (although I think you have to pay for some shows/movies IIRC).
We find the 2-3-2 layout better on the transatlantic leg, than the 3-3 on the domestic leg. No having to ask strangers to move if you need to go to the loo, infact no having strangers sitting next to you full stop!
Can't help you with the MAN - JFK - LAS route, sorry.0 -
OctoberI wasn't really using my mate as an example of why to get insurance, more of showing how much of a bill you can get for a simple thing. He wouldn't have been covered anyway as it was self inflicted and rightly no insurance company would cover you for thatThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

August"any chance of a claim is tiny..."
Oh dear - i shouldn't feed the troll... but really - what stats?
I work for the UKs largest insurer and we pay out millions every year on claims...
I pay £5 a month to tesco for my cat insurance (he's 4), so thats been roughly £240 for the total of his life so far. He was hit by a car 2 years ago and the end vets bill was around £2k... i simply paid a £50 excess to the vet. He didnt plan on getting run over or needing a pin in his hip right enough.
When i started at my work 9 years ago i worked in customer service - nothing worse than someone rining up to make a claim on a policy they forgot to pay for renewal on and then they've been flooded and lost pretty much everything... i live in Sheffield and around 40% of people flooded here a few years ago had no insurance.
I have my car, house, pets and any travel insured... if you can afford to go to vegas i think a £20 single trip policy is a small price to pay0 -

JulyHey guys!
I'm relatively new to using the site and visited Las Vegas last June with 5 friends!
Going back across this summer, July 8th - July 21st and still to book up. Looking at flights themselves it does seem to be around £800.00 flight from Glasgow so there isn't much change there only £30.00 here or there by a few days.
The one thing myself and my brother who is going this year have to decide on is the Hotel. Now we stayed in Planet Hollywood last year which was fantastic but looking to go elsewhere for a change of course. Looking at some of the package deals out there the range of £1200.00 - £1400.00 for the trip includes TI (stayed there briefly in '08), V'dara (not a casino I'm aware), The Mirage, PH, Wynn+Encore, Aria and the like. Certainly a few options as we are looking to stay in a 4 star min again and also on the strip, any recommendations? PH went down really well last year so something similar would be good.
Also checking out the site I have came across Priceline.com, now have any of you guys/girls used the site when booking in Las Vegas as it certainly seems to be a way in which to make some great savings on a hotel should your bid be accepted. No idea what kind of sucess your looking at though so if anyone has any experience on this option then comments would be welcomed0
