Wow - we did that same Xmas trip, fly Virgin, staying Venetian, visit to Grand Canyon, saw Jersey boys, two years ago.

I did the xmas trip 2 years ago, happy to say I did it but I don't think I'd do it again, you will need to find things to do outside of the casinos as the jingle jingle music tapes drive you nuts.

I was playing poker in the Excalibur on Xmas eve and they had a very short loop on the music, there were numerous complaints and they changed the music.

Xmas eve seems to be the bigger event and I found several food joints closed early and thinking that oh dear it's going to be dead around town on the day itself, but everything was business as usual. a couple of (for me) unusual sights, 4pm on xmas day Maccy D's was ram jam full. The other was seeing 4 saffron robed buddist monks queing for ice cream in the food court at Excalibur.

Bonus, some of santa's helpers (cocktail waitresses) around town in their xmas uniforms would have given Santa apoplexy......V nice.

Sorry to upset some on here but they don't do a very good Christmas dinner with squash and strange veggies on the plate? we had a very nice steak dinner in the Excalibur. The buffet in the Gold Coast did have brussel sprouts as most of the casino found out after one of the boys ate a plateful for a prop!!

They don't do Boxing day either although we did have a nice dinner with some Canucks who did.

A nice trip but one experience to file away on the bucket list, as was Paddys day in LA this year. A memorable trip was rememberance Sunday/ Veterans day, especially to see the reception a group of British army soldiers assembling to go to a ceremony in full dress uniform, the number of people queuing up for photos etc was surprising.

    Xmas has to be done.

Don't know if it's a good deal, but yes, you could use it for dinner for you and your hubby...but you and your hubby could not each have a voucher and get $60 worth of food. And you can only buy one for you to use...another as a gift...which, I suppose, you could give to your hubby...so long as he didn't try to use it the same time as you. :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

There are some great buffet offers at the mo the 24 hours $24.99 at Excalibur is the cheapest but the problem you have with all of these offers is that if you are the other end of the Strip you will miss out on your meals there and not get full value, HET though have not got a deal where for $44.99 you get 24 hours access to buffets at 7 resorts Caesers, Paris, Rio, Flamingo, Imperial Palace, Harrahs and Planet Hollywood. If you get your timings right ie have a late dinner on the first day and and early dinner on the second you can get 4 main meals out of this deal the only problem is that unlikle the MGM Group all day buffet passes you cant jump the queues :(
