Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Ive just been looking at the restaurant.com site and is this genuine, there must be some catch! I looked at a $100 certificate for Envy steakhouse, its one that was recommended by a friend that we should try (its our first time in Vegas soon) and with the voucher code that only works out as $8! That cant be real can it? Can someone tell me whats the catch!

    Thanks

Slightly off-topic but does anyone know if you can take chocolate in to the US?
is it white or dark chocolate? Your only allowed fifty grams of dark but a unlimited amount of milk chocolate. I think the penalty is 4 years in prison. I belive the rolling stones once had a famous sit in to protest after mick jagger got arrested trying to smuggle in a bar of dairy milk

What works out at $8, the cost of the certificate? Read the T&C's which are clearly next to each certificate. You need to spend $200 to use a $100 cert.

Ah good for you. A lot of people come on here thinking they can get their meal for free if they buy enough certs.

Yes it's correct, a $100 cert for $8 with the code.

If you put in 89109 and 89119 as the zip and select 1 mile you will find the restaurants on or near the strip. 5 miles will give you Casa di Amore which we really like and they send a free limo to pick you up and take you back again. You just need to tip the driver.

We are going to Envy next trip on a TravelZoo offer which is a Prix Fixe menu. Ferf has been there with her outlaws I think it was.

We used a $75 certificate off $150 minimum order at ENVY, no problems. Really enjoyed the meal - my MIL still says it's the best steak she's ever had.

If you think about it - the restaurant is getting a new customer, someone who would probably not come otherwise...they know you'll have to spend the minimum required by the voucher in order to redeem it, so you're not getting a free meal...the food doesn't cost them as much to buy/make as they sell it for...and, if you like it, maybe you will come back without bothering with the voucher.

Never had an issue redeeming one - a couple of restaurants have closed but restaurant.com will give you a credit for the voucher if that happens.

We've tried a lot of good restaurants this way - some great, some OK - several that were good value after the voucher, overpriced without, etc.

According to this (Customs and Border Protection):

    http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/newsroom/highlights/travel_news/bring_it_home.xml

    generally it's fine.

"Bakery items, candy, chocolate, and cured cheese are generally admissible."
