I posted some time ago of the MGM policy of charging to guarantee a NO smoking room... it seems from comments that they're trying to force people down this route possibly through dodgy tactics (spread the word that you must pay the 20 dollars or you will get a smoking room!)!

Another reason I'm unlikely to go back to stay in that chain of casinos!

Not a new thing about the non smoking room issue though it was prob 10 years ago when they couldnt find me one.

Has anyone used Sundance helicoptors for a Grand Canyon trip?

I have booked one through Viator and the voucher has shown the company used is Sundance.

Ive paid £182pp and on their direct website the tour shows as $419pp so using current conversions looks like Viator gave a good deal.

I was hoping someone might know what they are like, ive checked out the reviews and most are very good.

    Thanks
    Joanne

I don't know...my husband won't stay in a smoking room - if he could pay $20 and be guaranteed a N/S room he might go for it...since otherwise, it's just a request along with bed type...and they aren't in any way bound to give you what you requested...at least if you pay the $20, then the hotel (presumably) has to honour that?

Luckily we haven't been stuck in a smoking room yet in Vegas - we've taken two queens before as a compromise but prefer a king room.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

I believe they dropped this idea as quickly as it arrived due to adverse publicity.

The smoking room thing is another reason we love the Signature neither of us are smokers and although I dont mind anyone else smoking I would hate a smoking room. Although...I couldnt believe the first time we went how you dont notice the smell of smoke in the Casinos that much, I imagined it to hit you as soon as you walked in places haha the only place I do notice it is Harrahs really and I think thats only cos the ceiling is lower than most.

Talking of MGM, I've just watched the American Undercover Boss that featured the president of MGM Grand (it was on in the US on Sunday I think - my husband's computer magic helped me to watch it!)

Vegas Chatter has a review of it where they described it as an hour-long advert for MGM which I agree with, but I really enjoyed it. I don't know if/when it'll be on UK TV, but it's well worth checking out.

I of course got emotional at the end, but then I do that with adverts so it's hardly surprising :rotfl:

Which is more important to you
Cost, pool , location, and in which order

Doh! Knew you'd ask me that! The truth is, I'm looking for the right balance of all three. But perhaps, location (mid strip), cost (would be happy with a great room in a cheaper hotel), then pool (we're only there 5 nights).
