Was just looking at the T&Cs for my Palazzo booking next month and it says

At check-in a credit card is required. An authorization amount of $150 per day will be made so that charges to the suite can be made and the phone turned on for external calling. Any unused portion will be returned at check out. If a credit card is not available, a one-time $100.00 deposit by cash or debit card will be charged and is fully refundable at the end of the stay. The one-time charge will not allow for charges to be made to the suite.

Sounds rather alot, think i will be giving a $100 cash deposit instead. I never charge things to my room anyway.

most if not all the vegas hotels go on per person booking, search through this thread and 2010's you will find that some book kids in some do not,not sure but i think some have booked a ajoining room but not sure on that one

Most rooms are per room per night, but based on double occupancy - so 1 or 2 people - same price...over 2, most apply a per person per night surcharge - so sometimes 2 rooms is better value than 1 when you have 4 people...and as jaytay says, some hotels don't differentiate between adults and children...you can normally tell - if there is space for children, they differentiate...if not, people is people...but normally there's a FAQ on their site somewhere that explains.

Agree with adamg - you can request adjoining rooms, but no guarantee you will get them.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Anyone else got any thoughts / comments / experience on adjoining rooms in Strip hotels? That would be our ideal, but I can't find much info on this. Is it simply a case of contacting each hotel to ask?

How old are the children? If young enough and they are happy sharing a bed (queen size so a king size in the UK) book a 2 queen room for 2 adults and dont mention the children. On check in make sure you get a 2 queen, its unlikely to be a problem.

Adjoining rooms are never gted, you may not even be on the same floor.

If you really want to book a room for 4 with the children included for free.

I dont think the Luxor charges for under 12. they can both be under 12 even if they arent, if you know what i mean.

    MBay doesnt charge

I cant remember where else, as most of the ones that didnt charge have started doing so

yes, but i would not believe it until you are both in the rooms next to each other. Stayed in MGM with 5000 rooms I dont believe for one second they could not put us in adjoining rooms nor indeed find us 2 non smoking rooms.

I have mentioned before about check in at MGM. It is the ONLY hotel in Vegas (and I have stayed in a good few) that couldnt find me a non smoking 2 queen room

Todays living social deal is 4 races at fast lap karting, for $25

Great if you are taking older children

If you find yourself racing your pals Days of Thunder-style anywhere you can (including the grocery store and while walking the dogs), then today's deal is for you. Spend $25 and speed over to Fast Lap Indoor Kart Racing for three same-day races, plus a bonus race within 30 days (a $77 value

Children are 9 & 12. Will probably book 2 Queen beds, but it's not as condusive to a good marriage as adjoining rooms. :D

Was going to book a Go at the Flamingo until I read here about the 'no children' changes to the Pool..... bit gutted about that.

We are in minority taking kids to vegas :D, I have a booking at Flamingo this year which I am going to cancel because of the pool changes.
I cant see there being enough room round the small pool for families.

Agree about the marriage and adjoining rooms but as I said before there is no gtee about getting them although with kids in the second room I am sure they would try and accomodate

If you are happy with them in the same room, as i said before I would book a 2 queen room for 2 adults, I always do, although I only have 1 child

What would be your second-choice Hotel for a family? It'll be our first time - am trying to work out the best mid-strip, good pool, mid-price hotel....

I posted some time ago of the MGM policy of charging to guarantee a NO smoking room... it seems from comments that they're trying to force people down this route possibly through dodgy tactics (spread the word that you must pay the 20 dollars or you will get a smoking room!)!

Another reason I'm unlikely to go back to stay in that chain of casinos!

    Difficult question

Used to be Flamingo hands down

Prob the best value strip hotel with a good pool is the MGM although as i said I have always had problems at checkin and it isnt mid strip.

The Mirage has a good pool but is more expensive although some good rates on this promo and has good location

    https://reservations.mgmmirage.com/bookingengine.aspx?host=group&pid=160&show=rates&code=MIRAR1A&kbid=1162904&sub=2602686!W!MIRAR1A.

Mandaly Bay has the best pool for kids but is more expensive and even further from mid strip (great rooms though).

Which is more important to you

Cost, pool , location, and in which order
