stoneman - glad you got home safely, but so sorry to hear that you caught the same thing Tracy had that kept her close to home base that night. It was great to meet you and I really enjoyed our chat - agree that next time hopefully it will be the full 4 of us!

I think you should upgrade your Flamingo seat to a VIP one Ferf ;)

Or, the alternative is to have my husband be one of the bored looking ones Marie picks on and eventually calls up on stage and makes dance and sing...thus getting us the VIP meet and greet for free.

Seriously, I'm sitting there in my seat thinking:

OMG, he's going to kill me.
OMG, did duchy somehow arrange this?
OMG, he's going to kill me.

He's like a minor celebrity now, at least 50 people stopped him in the casino afterwards, some asking 'do you sing for a living'...even Donny said he had a 'good voice'. DONNY!

The funny thing is, last night, I got out the confirmation as we couldn't remember if the show was at 7 or 7:30 and realised then that the numpty on the phone booked us tickets for the 19th, not the 9th...luckily they sorted it out for us at the box office today but we were a few tables over - 13B instead of 11A...from what we could tell, and from what my hubby experienced on stage, Marie probably couldn't have seen him on the 11A table...so it's been a rather odd day. :)

(although i'm not holding out to much for the shopping as i tend to do alot of the glitches and on line offers on here so don't pay full price normally)
Outlet mall South Strip near the airport (I dont like this one). Outlet mall north Strip past Strat, turn onto Charleston. Outlet mall in Primm 30 miles from Vegas - they do cheap bus tours there from the casinos.....only Hollister Outlet for hundreds of miles.

As for cost and queues, I dont think they are particularly expensive and the queues are not long becasue as someone else posted it is not disneyland and the rides are not something people go to Vegas for.

As for worth doing, they are all worth doing if you like thrill rides. I havent done the Strat rides as I dont fancy being dangled in a chair over 1000ft above the ground

Yeah, since showing my Wife-to-be the youtube clips of the Strat rides, she dont want to go on them now :(:( Looks like i gotta do it all by myself, and then do the jump to get down a bit quicker ! :D
And then straight onto that Sahara ride after (which she will go on!).. :D

oh and stoneman, sorry to hear a bad start like that on the plane, 10 out of 10 for keeping your cool though, i would have smashed his face in.... which would have gotten me: most likely arrested and my trip spoiled! etc etc (and if someone says it wasnt his fault, he could have spewed the other day or down on the floor!) Grrrrrrrrrrr !
Nice reading about your win$ though, i'll be hoping for a bit of that!

I'm actually very surprised BA didn't offer any compensation as a good will gesture. I agree it wasn't their fault but I think I'd probably write into them to let them know what happened. Let them know how their crew handled it-that kind of feedback is always appreciated and may get you an acknowledgement that you suffered-without you actually having to complain as such.

oh stoneman, that is truly awful. And having to bear the smell for all those hours left on the flight.
If I was sitting anywhere near it, I'd have thrown up too. There are no circumstances that the man couldn't have at least turned away from you guys, and if he was already feeling ill, when did he not have an airbag in his hands 'just in case'. No excuse, even if he was feeling crappy.....

Glad you've got another trip soon, to make up for this trip. :)

Im sure that if you were in a higher paying class, you would have been showered with compensation.

I haven't read anything on here about the rides! why??:p Its the rides i'm most looking forward to, sat here right now i don't think i'll do any gambling at all i have absolutly no niggle to do it (but i'm going with 3 other people so that might change if we get there and they do, i don't know)

can someone pleeease talk about the rides:D are they expensive? are the queues long? which are worth doing and which not? (if they are expensive and the queues are long)

    thank you!!

 i mention the rides in the guide in post 3 just below The Freemont street stuff . non of them are a rip off , and you can sometimes buy tickets for them at the half price ticket booths .

There is nothing wrong with the Flamingo, I'm back there in September. I've even stayed at the Imperial Palace (just look at their reviews) and it was very cheap and perfectly acceptable, just insist you stay in the first tower at IP (first set of lifts on the left).

Personally I don't waste money on beautiful hotel rooms with 60" plasma televisions and fancy bathrooms. I sleep, shower and you know what else in the room. I'm not spending a small fortune getting to LV to sit in my hotel room. Apart from that you can pick any hotel and find complaints, some people just enjoy moaning.

I totally agree with you. I usually stay in the Mirage but because I'm doing a week in NYC first it's kind of bitten into my LV budget. Going in August I'm spending the weekend in the Imperial Palace (deluxe room) and then midweek in a GO room at the Flamingo. Saving myself about £350 from my usual hotel costs. Stayed in the IP before and thought it was fine, my American friends who I was with couldn't have disagreed more :rotfl:Us Brits are a bit less high maintenence I guess, or maybe we are too used to staying in less plush hotels......
