AugustNot sure if this is of any use to anyone, livingsocial.com, very similar to groupon (although haven't used them, have used groupon) currently have a NASCAR deal on $89 (reg price $178) for 1 day package or $199 (reg price $424) for 3 day package.
Not my thing at all but maybe a useful site for future offers.
You sign up with your email address same as groupon, they do UK offers too.
Thanks had a look I was hoping it was a drive your self or passanger package (which they do at LVMS) but it is to watch racing0 -
AugustIt's not just lack of a casino though - it's a lack of all that goes with having a casino on the property. Trump can't have the vibe of a place with a casino...it doesn't have the sort of attractions on property there to draw people in (ultimately in the hope that they stop in the casino) and all of that that makes up the full package of a Vegas hotel.
But for a first trip, for a real Vegas experience, staying at a property which does will be a different thing entirely.
If having a great room is the top priority then maybe Trump is a good choice at that price. Trump will of course be a more tranquil place because it doesn't have a casino - for some that's a plus.
So it depends on price and what someone wants out of their stay, priorities for the hotel that they are staying at that will all impact what would be 'best'.
I echo the above
The OP prob wont get quite such a good room on the strip for the same price but will get the "vibe"0 -

I suppose that I should not complain, we booked our tickets months ago and wouldn't have waited until the weekend before to do so...but this would have been better seats and Neon Garage access (which for an additional $179 each was not worth it to us)...for not a lot more than we paid for our grandstand seats.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
MayI think once you've visited a couple of times your needs do change. A first time visit and only 2 nights -30 minute waits for a shuttle really eat into your time
With HET doing the 30% off for booking ahead I'd be looking at Caesars Palace or Flamingo as both are situated bang centre Strip and are nice hotels. You do NOT however want a classic room at Caesars as they are dreadful and the Go rooms at the Flamingo are much nicer than the deluxe rooms. (Oh and you are sooooooooo right in thinking Imperial Palace is too cheap LOL)
So for 21st November for 2 nights total booking direct with the hotel (neither have resort fees) Flamingo $80 plus tax deluxe room or $160 plus tax Go room -If you want to take a chance - -you could book the deluxe and upgrade to a Go room for $30 a night on arrival-which would save you a whole $20. LOL Caesars would be $198 plus tax for the two nights in a classic room (which you do NOT want -but could use the $20 trick to upgrade) or $278 in a Forum Tower room . (again read up on the $20 trick-Forum rooms are lovely but $20 will get you something fab if you are minded to try it)
It's better to book direct with the hotel as if a better offer comes along in the meantime you can cancel with no charge -and Harrahs (the company which owns both hotels) has a lowest price guarantee anyway-so it's win win.
(Prices change but I got these this morning from www.flamingo.com )I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

We're going on the 21st-23rd Nov. We would go for longer but we're staying in my uncles in San Diego and I'd like to be there for Thanksgiving.
Caesers Palace - £138 for two nights.
The Imperial Palace - £37 (does this sound a bit too low?)
Mirage - £130 with strip view, or £97 for the cheapest room
MGM Grand Hotel and Casino - £74 for the cheapest room, or £118 for a bungalow king suite
New York New York - £87 for a Park Avenue Premium View room
Monte Carlo - £87 for a strip view room, or £62 for the cheapest room.
The above price is for the both of us, and will also have tax to be paid on top of that but I suppose that won't bring the price up much.. Some also have a resort fee of about $16 but those of you who have already stayed there will know this.
Which one would be the best, or is there anywhere else I should look? The most I would pay for the both of us would be £140.
Ceasars would depend on the room . def not a horrible classic for the price . is it a Augustus tower room ? if so that one would be for me @ £138
£37 is probably right for a down in the dark basement room at the IP .
Mirage is nice but probably a bit expensive at that price . but if you wanted a mid strip hotel , i doubt you would be dissapointed .
MGM is good value , but i prefer NYNY to it and Monte carlo .
you should also check prices for , The Flamingo , Ballys , Paris and PH . see what price you get at the Wynn/ Encore it may surprise you
also no harm in looking at Bellagio and Venetian but probably going to max out your budget .Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -

MarchWEDNESDAY!
I cannot wait...if I can just survive the last two work days (and the work I'm doing this weekend to do my best to ensure that those days are not awful)...Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

MayLol, I also lose consistently there as well as every other casino i have been in.
A cabbie once said taking us back to the airport 97% of people leave losing.
The way i see it, the more i go the more chance i have at winning. :rotfl:
That's because the winners go to the airport by (comped) limo :rotfl::rotfl:I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
