I just saw that hotel and thought it seemed good and it said there was a free shuttle to the strip, but after you saying that I think it probably would be a lot better to stay on the strip if we're there such a short time. Any recommendations around the same price?
seeing as we don't know the price of the The Trump tower it is hard to even make a start . also prices fluctuate so much for most places ,so question " whats about the same price as The Trump Tower on the strip" is all down to what you can find for your dates .the links on page 1 should be a good start :A
have a search around :search: and come back with some prices for your dates for various properties . you can then ask what people would chooseBetter in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
November / DecemberTraincrashing wrote: »On the note of Vegas, we're only going for 2 nights and hoping to stay at the Trump Hotel. Is this a good place to stay? I've read that there's no casino here so it's not too smokey which is definitely a plus for me. It would be £118 between us for the 2 nights in November.
I already said the price
I asked what people thought of this hotel and was told that I would be better on the strip if I'm going for such a short time.0 -
MarchNever been to the trump, but if you look on Trip adviser it seems to say its more for corporate types.
I would agree if your only there for 2 nights then a strip hotel would be a big advantage.0 -
November / DecemberI've just looked around anyway though, but as this is my first time I'm not too sure where is good anyway so I'm just going by tripadvisor, and a few places I saw on the map on the first thread. We're going on the 21st-23rd Nov. We would go for longer but we're staying in my uncles in San Diego and I'd like to be there for Thanksgiving.
Caesers Palace - £138 for two nights.
The Imperial Palace - £37 (does this sound a bit too low?)
Mirage - £130 with strip view, or £97 for the cheapest room
MGM Grand Hotel and Casino - £74 for the cheapest room, or £118 for a bungalow king suite
New York New York - £87 for a Park Avenue Premium View room
Monte Carlo - £87 for a strip view room, or £62 for the cheapest room.
The above price is for the both of us, and will also have tax to be paid on top of that but I suppose that won't bring the price up much.. Some also have a resort fee of about $16 but those of you who have already stayed there will know this.
Which one would be the best, or is there anywhere else I should look? The most I would pay for the both of us would be £140.0 -

SeptemberFunny, it's the one we lose at consistently...win/loss statements prove it is not a perception thing.
Welcome back, Fluff! Looking forward to the trip report when you are rested and up to it.
Lol, I also lose consistently there as well as every other casino i have been in.
A cabbie once said taking us back to the airport 97% of people leave losing.
The way i see it, the more i go the more chance i have at winning. :rotfl:0 -

I have been there last year for two nights and it is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. Just booked another night for £50 for my next Vegas visit, it can't get much better than this hotel. There is a shuttle bus every half hour to Casar's Palace and the Wynn.
Quite a questionable argument to not book a hotel just because there is no casino in it... I think that is an advantage, its more quiet and there are enough other places where you can lose your money.
I guess here in London you need to pay at least £500 and up to get the same luxury room you have at the Trump Vegas.
Have fun!0 -

.
It's not just lack of a casino though - it's a lack of all that goes with having a casino on the property. Trump can't have the vibe of a place with a casino...it doesn't have the sort of attractions on property there to draw people in (ultimately in the hope that they stop in the casino) and all of that that makes up the full package of a Vegas hotel.
But for a first trip, for a real Vegas experience, staying at a property which does will be a different thing entirely.
If having a great room is the top priority then maybe Trump is a good choice at that price. Trump will of course be a more tranquil place because it doesn't have a casino - for some that's a plus.
So it depends on price and what someone wants out of their stay, priorities for the hotel that they are staying at that will all impact what would be 'best'.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
AugustNot sure if this is of any use to anyone, livingsocial.com, very similar to groupon (although haven't used them, have used groupon) currently have a NASCAR deal on $89 (reg price $178) for 1 day package or $199 (reg price $424) for 3 day package.
Not my thing at all but maybe a useful site for future offers.
You sign up with your email address same as groupon, they do UK offers too.0
