AugustHi there. I have spent the last month or so reading through the loooooong 2010 thread and through this one.
My fiance and me are heading to Vegas at the end of Sept to get married and then take off on a road trip around CA.
We have seen an offer for 6 nights in the Cosmo inc breakfast each day for £650. We are about ready to pull the trigger and book but wanted to check to see if you guys think this is a good deal?
The deal is through a broker and is coming up quite a bit cheaper than booking direct through the Hotel. The booking is also cancellable.
Can I ask who the breakfast deal is with please. The Cosmo had a breakfast deal on their website but it read that you only got 1 breakfast per trip and not per day. It was also only available up to May/june I think0 -

The last biggie I had out there I didn't even know what make it was. I spent about 1/2 an hour trying to find out where the headlight switches were, not knowing they were automatic as were the seatbelts!
I picked up the car from LAS, the row I was supposed to pick up from was empty as was the one behind it, the last row was full of the exec models, which when I spoke to the guy on the barrier and he phoned the desk, checked to see that where I was told to go was empty was basically told to take my pick at no further cost.
A clue for locals to spot a Brit, I went to fill up later in the trip and I don't use cards in gas stations, I left $60 on the till and went and filled up, it was some $23, the attendant thought I was a bit mad leaving so much, she was amazed when I said how much it cost to fuel up. Her question was does anybody actually drive over there?
Would also like to know about the 7 seat durango, there will be 5 of us plus cases in Aug, so looking at booking the Durango (or similar as long as it has 7 seats)0 -
I always wondered what happened if my hire car broke down in the middle of a desert in the US .Well last week it happened my Toyota from Hertz in Vegas decided to stop on the way from Phoenix to Palm Springs.
I tried my UK smart phone but no signal but luckily I had a US mobile from Walmart. I got through to Hertz who passed the job to AAA and they sent a local truck to recover the car, 5 hours wasted and I am glad I had plenty of water in the car. Hertz seem to be keeping their cars longer now 53000 on the Toyota and 46000 on the Nissan replacement car.0 -
OctoberIf you hire from Thrifty they want to charge you extra for breakdown cover! No kidding, so with them you are liable if you get a puncture, damage the underside of the car, smash a windscreen and now if THEIR car breaks down, you have to pay to get it towed in unless you take out the $5 a day coverThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

OctoberHello,
Can anyone help on this one, I have been reading the LV thread since last year and at some point last year a member posted a photograph of a wedding cake that they had at there wedding, it was like a roulette wheel at the bottom then decks of cards and roulette chips, if the member or anyone else can remember it I would be grateful for the link.
Thanks0 -
