Next time you book a direct flight with an agent/tour operator and then get told your still going, just indirect or landing somewhere first, lets see how u would play things out ?
a more interesting comparison would be I wonder what would happen if you booked a flight on a 777, and they changed it to a 747 for example...?

...now I really am thinking out loud! :D

I just checked my Carhire3000 voucher and it basically says, not only do I have to comply with their T&C's but also with the car hire company's T&C's - there's always a get-out clause ;)

I fly into SFO 2 weeks today and will be picking up a BFO 4x4.
err, naivety but "BFO" as in "Big .... off"? - what do you think you'll get? If it's a Dodge Durango can I beg you to take some pictures of the boot space with your luggage in it? :D

You nailed it in one, even if it is not a Dodge if they have one there I'll take a few snaps and put them up, no problem.

The last biggie I had out there I didn't even know what make it was. I spent about 1/2 an hour trying to find out where the headlight switches were, not knowing they were automatic as were the seatbelts!

I picked up the car from LAS, the row I was supposed to pick up from was empty as was the one behind it, the last row was full of the exec models, which when I spoke to the guy on the barrier and he phoned the desk, checked to see that where I was told to go was empty was basically told to take my pick at no further cost.

A clue for locals to spot a Brit, I went to fill up later in the trip and I don't use cards in gas stations, I left $60 on the till and went and filled up, it was some $23, the attendant thought I was a bit mad leaving so much, she was amazed when I said how much it cost to fuel up. Her question was does anybody actually drive over there?

Cheers Spursman, i need 5 seats, and also will have (at least!) 5 full size suitcases to accommodate - even if you can just give a nod whether you think it would go, it would be useful...

we 'lucked' the 7 seater durango back in 2008 (should've been a cherokee or similar), but there was only 2 of us and 4 suitcases so didn't pay much attention to space in the back!... i just remember it being a beast! :D

Thanks for the very quick reply!

I have looked on their website and the same room is available for the same price (£3 cheaper actually) but doesnt have the added bonus of breakfast included each day.

Sorry I have no useful info to offer but who quoted that price for you? Might check them out myself.

I aint ticked any boxes (plus i phoned my order through anyway), and more to the point, this is just talk/discussion, etc.... The likely hood of me not getting what i want is unlikely, i will get the cars i paid for, and if i dont, i will get somthing better (big SUV).......
and theres no such thing as playing dumb, i'm a consumer...

Sorry must have quickly read the origional post, thought you had booked online. Just to make the point though that you might NOT(and in my experience probably not) get what you want, which is a Mustang, and if you don't then I can't see an SUV being a good substitute, which of course they have no obligation to let you have if there are 6 Sebrings sitting in the garage.
If you are so set on a Mustange you could always go to Hertz where they will rent you a very nice Shelby 500.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.
