Thanks for all the replies guys, as it turns out my OH placed a reservation with tigerhotels.co.uk last night  using the pay later option and booking via cc. I am now unsure whether to cancel it or not?

Other than the review posted above, I did find two other reviews on tripadvisor that mentioned the company, however all three are all by reviewers who have only placed one review and have registered in the last 6 weeks.

The other thing that seemed funny is that no deposit was required to make the booking, which seems very strange. She called them up to query this and was reassured all was ok. We have since recieved booking confirmation and a request to pay the outstanding balance (ie the full amount) 4 weeks before we travel.
Sorry can't be bothered to read back, when are you booked for? Ring the hotel to see if they have a bookng for you, that would be a good start, then just hold onto the edge of your seat until you get into the room, hey Vegas is all about gambling anyway:rotfl:
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

We are doing Vegas at the start of our wedding/honeymoon trip. We are spending 6 nights there from 29th Sept before heading off on a road trip.

OH placed the reservation last night so I will email the hotel to check if they have a reservation in our names. The main thing that raised my eyebrow was not needing to pay any kind of deposit.

We are looking at 5 star hotels and Cosmo is her top choice. I'm not clued up about how the whole ABTA thing works but I will give them a call after work.

Hopefully a reservation has been made at the hotel in our names and the ABTA stuff checks out.

As it stands the reservation hasn't cost anything yet so I am not overly alarmed just yet

It's not a recognised name -and that hit rate is awfully low. In your shoes I wouldn't personally risk it when a very nearly as good rate is available with CityandShow who lots of people have personal experience of here and recommend.

Sorry but yes I suspect it may be a bit too good to be true

As Duchy said, I would tread carefully with this Company. According to our risk assessment credit software, the balance sheet at the end of Aug 2009 (the last accounts available) shows assets of £48,000 and liabilities of £58,000. Now they may have had a stonking 2010 but I would take this info on board when making a decision.

Also, on their website it states that it is an offshoot of it's sister Company Technoworld. This may make you believe that the 2 companies are connected but they are not. I think this is a bit misleading.

Technoworld has a healthy balance sheet but the only connection I can see is that the sole Director of JVC Technology(Tigerhotels.co.uk) has the same surname as Directors of Technoworld - maybe a member of the same family?

The only capital issued to start the company was £1

As I said earlier, the balance sheet may have improved since 2009 and they are also ABTA protected but I would do a bit more investigating before booking. Just my personal opinion like. :)

    OK
I'm going to stick my neck out.
    This is your honeymoon !
To risk your arrangements for the sake of a couple of free breakfasts is NUTS

Worst scenario is you arrive and the hotel hasn't heard of you/refuses to honour the rate-What then? You pay a huge rate or are left scrabbling around for another hotel . Do you want to risk that on your honeymoon of all things. Really-just cancel the reservation and make it with City and Show instead -and then it's one less thing to worry about.

OK this is MSE but there are some things you don't take chances with-and honeymoons are on that list !!

Sorry but that's honestly how I feel.

No need to apologise, I am in full agreement with you. I think we will cancel the booking and rebook through the agent you recommended which is slightly cheaper but doesnt include the breakfast, our friends are staying in a different hotel anyway so prob wouldnt make full use of the breakfast offer.

Like you say, its our wedding so it just isn't worth the risk.

I would also just like to point out that this isn't a negative reflection on the company involved, like Duchy so elequantly put it, we dont want to risk our honeymoon on an unknown element.

Thank you for taking my comments so well -I know not everyone would .

You *do* know that having taken advice here it's a requirement that you post a trip report when you get back............
    don't you ;)

I'm looking forward to trying the Cosmo for breakfast (my current favourite on the Strip is Paris for buffets) in either May or July.

I am with Duchy and I personally would not risk a booking with them.

Very tempting though as 3 nights at Cosmo in Aug is about £60 cheaper and include free brakfasts that is a great saving..BUT how do they do it?

The thing that puzzles me the most is how they confirm the booking with the hotel, they would have to pay 1 nights deposit (I would have thought), I cannot see any company paying a hotel without taking money from the client first, but i maybe wrong

Yeah the whole no deposit thing is what sits most uncomfortable with me, surely no company would risk stumping up a deposit on behalf of a customer?

Anyhoo, decision is now made thanks to the input from you guys

Honeymoon and breakfast, this site is getting good at oxymorons. If they filled the fridge with red Bulls then it might be worth it?
