MarchLITTLE bit worried as i spoke to someone today who said vegas is good for 3 days, then you get bored. hope not!
As others have said, we've been many times for much longer than 3 days and still have things on our list from the first time we haven't done yet (I think The Gun Store may be the last undone first trip thing, but still).
My sister's boss went to Vegas for 3 nights (they live in the US) and came back saying basically the same thing, but more along the lines of 'there's nothing to do if you don't want to gamble all the time'.
While I'm willing to give some benefit of the doubt in most cases, I cannot believe that she did a single bit of research before her trip and made little effort to do any research once she arrived...since clearly there is plenty to do if you don't want to gamble all the time.
There are folks out there who aren't keen on Vegas for whatever reason...but I think if you know what to expect, you know what sort of things you want to do and all that, at least you have the basis for a nice holiday. I think part of the issue can be that people see Vegas on TV and in the movies or talk to their friends who have been to Vegas after following this path, pop down to their local high street TA, book something from a brochure, and that's the extent of their knowledge about Vegas when they arrive. Some will think it's brilliant, some will think it's awful...some of those who think it's awful may have thought it was brilliant if they actually had some reasonable expectations and knew what they wanted to do, etc.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
MarchHad to cancel the Monte Carlo and instead I just booked two nights with taxes and resort fees for 120$ in total. Anyone knows if they have free internet available? I guess free parking and Valet parking should also be included in the price.
Cheers
As duchy said, internet is not free at Flamingo...but it wasn't free at MC either as they have a resort fee that includes internet charges. Free parking is standard, it's customary to tip the valet but the parking itself is free.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Augustjust booked our flight, virgin direct at £571. could have got £517.90 if the gf was able to come back a day later, but no dice.
looking at prices and trop looks best at £460, new rooms. we are staying 6 nights 15th march - 21st
circus circus is a good price but i know the place is a dump.. however the new rooms look great too.
IP is a good price/location but reading the reviews it sounds pretty grotty and smelly. got slated on tripadvisor.

Sorry had to laugh at that. As others have said no one on here gets bored in/of Vegas.
As you visit this thread I am sure you will have done enouigh research not to get bored0 -

All hotel offer free parking and Valet for a tip0 -
Going back a page, there was an article the Cosmo tweeted recently about the best time to book a flight - apparently on Tuesdays at 3pm Eastern time.

Virgin 5-day Sale is on the go

Given the choice of LA from £409, or Vegas from £529 i'm pretty sure I know what i'd pick0 -

Thought I'd have a quick look at some hotel rooms for you but wow that week is really expensive! Quick example - a GO Deluxe room at the Flamingo if you were going Tues - Mon the previous week would be $55-$59 for the weeknights and $129 over the weekend...for your dates it's well over $100/night even in the week and $249/night for the Friday and Saturday, total $1245.
Oh wait - just realised it might be March Madness that week which would explain the high prices. I thought £460 for the Trop sounded expensive but perhaps it isn't if you take that into account.0 -
JuneAmerican Airlines Flights (LHR to Chicago to Vegas)
Just going back to that peeps
Sooooo, say my mum and her mate miss there connecting flight, do AA just get them on the next plane, with no additional charge ????
Reason i ask is, my mums mate has a son who lives in Chicago, so would be ideal if they had around 4 or 5hrs as such in Chicago airport as opposed to just the 2.........0 -

Also, the CON Expo convention starts on the 21st March, so the weekend of 19th/20th will be higher as demand is higher with the convention guys arriving in advance.... Rates from the 21st are even worse!American Airlines Flights (LHR to Chicago to Vegas)

Yep, no charge. We've missed an AA connection before and they just move you to the next flight. Obviously, ensure you know what times their flights are. You wouldn't want to arrive late night and the next one isn't until the morning....
And to point out the obvious, this is the case if both legs are booked with AA. If you connect from another airline onto AA, not sure where you'd stand. I expect everyone here is booking both legs with the same airline though, but thought I'd mention it all the same.....Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -

Also Lady Gaga is playing at the MGM on the 25th march, so that'll be bringing a few folk in. Bon jovi are playing there the 19th March too.DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08
