Julywas looking at flight prices yesterday for a week at the beginning of July... came in at about £750pp. today the same flights are just under £650pp.
why would this be... will the dip in price last long?
also, forgive my ignorance, but what's the deal with being ATOL protected on booking flights / hotel separately. am I right in thinking you're not covered... but if you booked both together via Expedia (for example), you would be covered?0 -

MarchBooked the car hire, and the hotel and parking.
For those who want to know the top secret hotel on Holiday Extras...the cheapest one is the Holiday Inn Junction 4 ...Heathrow hotel.
Just short of £120 for night in hotel and 15 days parking.DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

MayYes we have flown with AA a few times and found them to be very good. As ferf said, they seemed to be constantly coming round with drinks or food which helped the time to pass quicker. The food is a bit better than some we have been on.
I like their 777's as they have rows of 2 seats at the side so no random stranger on the aisle seat. IFE is seatback screens withe a good choice of movies.0 -

We've stayed there twice via Holiday Extras...we like it...the Thai restaurant is very nice we think, though not particularly cheap...there's supposedly a pub not far away that serves food. We've also gotten the Park Inn twice via HE undercover/top secret hotel, same star rating, pretty sure distance was similar...Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
MarchHey wasnt it meant to be me confusing those two hotels.......
That's right! You started it!I'm convinced it's the hotel=street name thing that makes me confuse them.

who knows . i grabbed a fare that was £200 less than the day before , and it was back up to full price 2-3 days later . i have said it before but there are no hard and fast rules regarding when the cheapest time to grab a seat is . it's all supply and demand .
as long as your flight is covered , no need worry about a main strip hotel as regards ATOL IMO . these are some of the largest hotels in the world after all . they won't be gong bust , and even if they do the banks ect will keep them open till they get their money back .
also Vegas does not run out of roomsBetter in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -

And bearing in mind several have filed for bankruptcy protection (some are still in bankruptcy, I think) and customers saw no difference...I'd imagine that it would almost always be in everyone's interest to keep things running as normal.
Plus, you book direct and pay one night's deposit in most cases...so minimal risk in terms of the losing money side of things at least.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Octoberangel park sounds good, we should have about 8 to 12. I guessing that would be enough for a pickup?
edit: mountain or palm?
Palm, mountain has rubbish greens. 8-10 is well enough for transport. Give them a ring first and negotiate, they also have an excellent clubhouse, go hungry. Tip, take plenty of balls, they have trimmed back the fairways to save water (all Vegas courses have done this in the last 2 years) so there is no rough, of you are off of the fairway you are straight onto rock and the ball just pings off into the ether lol.
Just a thought, the OB sports card is $200 and allows the holder to get cheap (like $40) rounds for the whole of the party, might work out cheaper but I am sure with an English accent you will get a good deal. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0
