I'm booked into the Trop for the week..
Got my dad booked into the Trop for the week
About to book my mum and her mate into the Trop for the week
and in a couple of weeks, will be booking a mate of mine into the Trop for the week!
I should tell the hotel i want commission!!! (although cos all booked through UK brokers, i have blagged free show tickets, and a suite for myself!)

I say from reviews, Trop seems good and working hard to compete against the others!

    LOL I hope you're right.....or you'll need to go into hiding :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

  • Hi , i am been lurking on this thread for a while. Great tips and info on here. Im going for 2 weeks on 22nd March staying at Orleans.

Anyway i just bought some restaurant.com certificates for first time and had 80% discount using promo code LOVE.
So dont know if that will be any use to anyone.

I love the Orleans -was my first Vegas hotel and I still think it's hard to beat for value.

Thanks. I think its between 3:

    Imperial Palace - Deluxe - £441
    Tropicana - £456
    Riviera - Encore £337, Signature £363, Premier £367

Would you consider splitting your stay in 2 i.e. 3 nights in one hotel then 3 in another? I only ask because bookit.com has an offer on at the Palms coming out at only $49/night for the first 3 nights of your stay, including 2 buffet breakfasts, but then the price shoots up for the last 3 nights. They also have an upgrade to a junior suite available at $69/night including free entry to the Playboy Club and Moon, but again only good prices for the first 3 nights.

That's a bit of a bargain if you don't mind being in that location as it's a nice hotel, BUT I think you'd have to pay in advance and I don't know if you could cancel so not sure if it'd work for you or not. The same deal isn't available if you go direct to the Palms website but it might be worth searching around to see if you can find a code somewhere.

You could also think about staying downtown if you were splitting your stay in two, which would maybe give you more for your money. The Golden Nugget for example comes out at $427 for the last 3 nights of your stay without any offer codes or anything...so if you combined it with the Palms deal you'd be looking at under $600 for the whole stay and in a couple of pretty nice hotels. Might be able to get an even better rate for the GN with a bit of searching.

Just a thought, but personally if going as a couple I'd rather do that than stay at the IP - great location but that's about it! I might be a bit biased as we enjoyed our time downtown more than our time on the strip, but maybe something to look into.

The Palms is a strange one -a very untypical casino hotel I always think -sort of trendy but fun. The food is very good there and it's easy to get to the Strip-just cross the road and hop on the Gold Coast shuttle -tip the driver a buck apiece and they don't care you're not resident.

I like the Palms yet it is rarely mentioned here.

DD and friend are going to Vegas in June to celebrate their 21st birthdays, and staying at the Palms.

Glad you like it cos I was a bit concerned they'd chosen something off-strip. I've only ever stayed on strip. Told them no walking to the hotel from the strip at all, taxis or shuttle all the time (thats me in mum mode!).

Any tips or advice welcome :)

But I thought the Palms had its own shuttle bus?

Personally I'd definately give the Palms a go, but I think that's partly because I was totally obsessed with Girls of the Playboy Mansion and they always used to go and party there with Hef! I want to stay in the Hugh Hefner Sky Villa really but it's just slightly out of budget :rotfl:

Looks like a fun place though even taking Playboy bunnies out of the equation, and apparently all their junior suites have a strip view which is pretty cool:

I'm pretty sure a group of girls celebrating their 21st birthdays at the Palms will have an AMAZING party!!

I've never noticed a shuttle bus at the Palms -just those green limos (very distinctive shade of green -vile but distinctive LOL)
I think they'll have a wonderful time and there's no way they'd manage to walk to the Strip in heels so don't worry :D

(I want to stay in the suite with its own bowling lane at the Pams btw)
