Can anyone recomend a really good hand cream? Due to extreme steroid useage over the past 5 years and still needing to take them, my skin has become very thin. I have to do my bloods up to 6 times a day, so the tips of my fingers get very dry. I have tried several creams but nothing works well. I dont mind if its a dearer one as long as it works.

    Thanks

    xx

Realise you've already bought, but for a good cheap option you'd have to go a long way to beat the Neutrogena Norwegian formula stuff. Until recently I would have recommended the Avon Care Dry Skin SOS one, but sadly (for my hands) they seem to have discontinued it. :(
Tracey that is a pretty nice stash!

Well, after a day of housework, commonly and catching up with some stiff for work....

I've spent an hour in bubble bath and have scrubbed, cleaned, shaved every part of me and still no more UU.

Will paint my nails now. Planning to use the Elf Matte finisher top coat. Has anybody tried this?

Not tried that, but for anyone considering the Avon matte effect nail polishes, don't for the time being - I have heard some fairly bad reviews on it - from other reps! The ordinary Nailwear pro is still as good as ever though! ;)
OMG  A girl dosen't sign on here for 2 days, and theres about 10 pages to read! Us ladies can chat. Hope you all had a lush weekend.

Some IN to add, but not my fault...It was my birthday yesterday (31 years young :p ) and I got a S&G Tote bag, and a S&G mini hat box as presents, and some Chanel No 5 perfume, which was my treat to myself for my birthday, (paid for in Boots points so at least it didn't cost anything, well why shouln't we buy stuff for ourselves with our advantage points, we deserve it!)
Gonna catch up on more chat now x

Happy Birthday Mandy - that's some nice pressies you've got there! :T

I was drooling over my S&G Tote bag last night - I think I may have convinced myself to keep quite a bit of it. :o Not a lot of point in listing anything on eBay at the moment as nothing is selling for much. I think I will try and see if I can do an exchange on the Flake Away in Boots if they will do so, and perhaps the wipes too. If I could exchange for products I would use that would make more sense.

A use up to report - paco rabanne ultraviolet perfume! Had it for about 4 years but started taking it out in my bag with me and spraying everywhere I went - sure I smelt like a hooker for the past month but it's used now wooo hooo! WIBA? yes, it smells lovely but got loads more to get through before I even think about buying another perfume :(

I think many of us are so guilty of buying things to be used at 'special times'.
But every day has the potential to be special - in using something luxurious, we elevate it out of the mundane. We focus upon ourselves in using the product, boost our self-esteem, and if we have been bought the product as a present, it's a little reminder of the love behind that gift.

Many of you will have probably seen an email doing the rounds by the late Erma Bombeck, a wonderful American writer and humorist. She wrote it shortly before her death from cancer, and it is entitled
'If I Had My Life To Live Over Again' and is a list of things she felt she should have done. It starts 'I would have talked less and listened more'.
One of the thoughts is 'I would have burned the pink candle shaped like a rose before it melted in storage.'

I think we all have our 'pink rose candles' - things which we should be using up, but aren't. And then they will go off and be discarded - they will go in to landfill, and damage the environment instead of making us feel good.
I intend burning all my candles, metaphorically, anyway this coming year. I'm going to enjoy the experience.
Love to all you lovely, supportive friendly people. Consider yourself hugged.
    And(rea)

What a lovely post M29 and I for one agree with your thoughts of burning all your candles this year. When I lost my father a few years ago both my mum and myself realised the how pointless it was keeping things for special occasions. Now I wear my expensive jellewery anywhere I fancy, spray perfume even if I am staying in myself and use all of my designer bags even if I am taking them shopping or into work. :)

Rosemary big hugs to you and rant away on here anytime.

    I love i-Foam too - lovely stuff!

Rosemary, poor you - sounds like it's been a horrible day. Hopefully things will all sort themselves out although it sounds like he needs to be willing to sit down and talk with you about a lot of stuff. I'l cross my fingers for you that things settle down.

And - I love your pink candle post - really does make the point that life is for living.

    .

    Couple of quick tips:
Old shower gel or bath foam (particularly ones you don't like! and are opened)
    * add to hand pumps to use as hand wash (just be really careful about hygiene - thoroughly rinse out the pump bottle you intend to use and let it air dry upside down - then refill)

why do you need to be so careful about hygiene - you are going to wash your hands with it

Thank You, think I'll enjoy using them.

I sometimes exchange stuff at Boots that I don't use, for stuff that I do, deodarents, hair dye etc. even without a receipt its no problem.

I've used Aveda Hand Relief for a couple of years now and it's quite good. I think it's about £16 for a decent sized tube.

is it really called that - is 16 quid the average charge for hand relief ?:rotfl:
