Pennypincher - if you want your dd's Johnson baby shower stuff to last longer - have you thought about getting her one of those shower puff things? Wilkinsons sell them for only 49p. You put one squirt on and then you can clean you whole body with it. I kept reading about them on here and thought initially what a faff but now I'm addicted.
Couple of quick tips:
Old shower gel or bath foam (particularly ones you don't like! and are opened)
* great to use to clean your make up brushes and hair brushes
* add to hand pumps to use as hand wash (just be really careful about hygiene - thoroughly rinse out the pump bottle you intend to use and let it air dry upside down - then refill)
* use it to clean out the bath/sink/shower
* my mum always used to put soapy water on the roses in the garden to stop tiny little flies I think!
* a bucket of soapy water is also useful to freshen up paths and patios
Old moisturiser (face or body)
* I'm guilty of using face moisturisers I didn't like - elsewhere. So on tougher skin like my elbows, knees, feet, backs of hands. Saves chucking a half empty pot or tube away.
* I'll offer to give my OH a facial or a back massage - and use up some of the products that way too. His skin absorbs so much moisturiser.
* Top up moisturising drier areas during the day - so elbows, knees, backs of hands, neck. I once read that Iman (Bowie's stunning wife) applied face moisturiser several times a day.
* Do hand/foot massage to help use things up - it's amazing how much cream/lotion the feet in particular can absorb.
* Place pots/tubes in strategic places so you'll see them and use them - so by the kitchen sink, bedside table, at work, everywhere.
Right I'm off for a lovely pamper session to use some stuff up :A
That is some great tips Mineallmine. I have been wondering about a nivea night cream that I opened a few months back. Only used it once as it was so greasy (I have oily skin as it is). I had put it back into the stash but will be digging it out to slather on my feet once I finish off my Burts Bees foot lotion. :beer:No buying toiletries Graduated May 2017Decluttered 2016 2469 items, 2017 1580 items :j2018 3060 itemsSealed Pot Challenge No 0380 -

Right now my basket comes to £35, and i am close to clicking the checkout button!
the latest Lush magaazine arrived a few days ago -isn't there a law that says that !!!!!! should be sent in a plain brown envelope
I have to confess that I took it to bed with me and I looked at the pictures AND read the descriptions  However, I didn't order anything and the magazine has gone in the recycling - I promise not to try to retrieve it
I can't remember the last time I bought anything in Lush, although I still have quite a few of their products in my stash. I do think that Dream Cream is the most effective body lotion ever, although the smell is an acquired taste that I am yet to acquire.3 stone down, 3 more to go0 -
Rosemary - sending you hugs, hope you're ok and enjoyed your lush bath x:hello:No more toiletries challenge :T
