went to a dance last night, not bad but my friend was knocked over in the viennese waltz and a woman stood on my foot in the last waltz and laddered my tights and drew blood:eek:dangerous this dancing lark!!!

grotty day as DH(!) upset me 1st thing and ended up telling me he wanted me to leave then wondered why I got very upset(30 years together)he started creeping about an hour ago(I suspect cos he wanted feeding)and said sorry but when I asked what he was sorry for he said he did not know:mad::mad::mad:men!!!!!He agrees I have been a good wife (e.g clean house, food when he gets home, washing and ironing done etc etc etc)and that he can be a pig BUT he still wont talk about things that are important to me(or go to relate) and says he is not bothered about them:(....sorry to ramble, think I need to be on a relationship forum!!!...think maybe I make life too comfortable for him.
A couple we know divorced and the man was shocked saying she divorced me and I dont know why...all her mates did tho he was a real pain and she had had enough!!...told DH he should go and live with the man:rotfl:
cos of row we have missed our usual sunday swim so think I will have a Lush bath bomb and face mask to help my tear sore face!

    Oh ((((((rosemary))))))))
Just saw this, so sorry about your OH petal, they can be awful at times!!!! I feel very unappreciated sometime so I know how you feel, vent away here or PM me anytime you need a chat xoxoxoxoxo
This forum - and this thread in particular - is doing me the world of good. I am decluttering, not buying stuff I don't need and in using products up, I'm pampering myself. I feel so happy about all three aspects.
I think many of us are so guilty of buying things to be used at 'special times'.
But every day has the potential to be special - in using something luxurious, we elevate it out of the mundane. We focus upon ourselves in using the product, boost our self-esteem, and if we have been bought the product as a present, it's a little reminder of the love behind that gift.

Many of you will have probably seen an email doing the rounds by the late Erma Bombeck, a wonderful American writer and humorist. She wrote it shortly before her death from cancer, and it is entitled
'If I Had My Life To Live Over Again' and is a list of things she felt she should have done. It starts 'I would have talked less and listened more'.
One of the thoughts is 'I would have burned the pink candle shaped like a rose before it melted in storage.'

I think we all have our 'pink rose candles' - things which we should be using up, but aren't. And then they will go off and be discarded - they will go in to landfill, and damage the environment instead of making us feel good.
I intend burning all my candles, metaphorically, anyway this coming year. I'm going to enjoy the experience.
Love to all you lovely, supportive friendly people. Consider yourself hugged.
    And(rea)

What a lovely lovely post hon, it has really touched me. Thank you :)

    Hey

Well am just about to go for a bath and after reading mcculloch29s post about the candle im going to go get the candle i got for my xmas and sit it on the window ledge and light it when i have my bath.... its going to be a nice relaxing night.

I love reading all about all the stashes and just wish that i had some of the lovely stuff you all do. I would love some nice branded skin care or bath stuff instead am using superdrugs own label stuff... not that im knocking it most of its good but im just jealous i don't have the expensive stuff :o although i'd be in a worse financial situation if i did have!!

That's lovely, hope you enjoyed your bath. :)

I've had a lovely bath tonight and shaved, scrubbed and buffed everything in sight. I have snuggly socks over moisturised feet too. Nothing UU though.
Rosemary, sorry your day has been so meh :( I hope you do manage to get him to talk about what his issues are. You can't solve a problem if you don't know what it is.
Belated Happy Birthday to mandymoomoo. Hope you had a lovely day.
    Welcome newbies :).
And, I have read that poem too. It seems to be following me around at the moment. I try to bear it in mind and I do burn the candles. I let the kids have their juice from wine glasses in the morning and we use our solid silver napkin rings when we sit down to dinner. Life is so much nicer when it has a bit of a shine to it isn't it?

Good idea, why not use all the nice stuff! Before OH and I moved into this house, I had quite a bit of stuff in cupboards and boxes but I have made a huge effort to have the nicest stuff out on display and in regular use. It makes me happy so it's worth doing. And of course this challenge has encouraged me to use up the fancy toiletries (they're not doing any good sitting on a shelf, as someone memorably pointed out on this very thread last year). Every day can be a special occasion :)

I too have scrubbed and buffed and shaved and body buttered and everything else I can think of today! :rotfl: Yay for pampering! I have a few splutterers so am looking forward to announcing some more UUs really soon.
    Happy birthday to mandymoomoo!

I've got to admit, my desire to keep things until I use them has meant keeping a few too many things for a little too long, but I've not thrown them out and feel good about having the extra space. It has also made me promise myself not to buy anything I can't use before it is likely to go off - what a wast of product and money!

I agree it was a waste, but equally so I don't relish what nasties might be lurking in it after well over a decade and have no plans in risking putting it on my face.

ma-ri-ella, no need to worry about revealing the size of your stash, it's like AA in here lol! We can confess all safe in the knowledge that everyone is in the same (overloaded and close to capsizing) boat and someone will always have a bigger hoard than you!!! :rotfl:

(maybe we should call this thread TA... Toiletries Anonymous!) :D

Put away the contents of my S&G tote I got for Christmas yesterday, went in my second hat box, existing S&G is in my other hat box so I know what to take first! Bag I used loads over Christmas/New Year when away (such a shame to see so many on ebay they are really great bags, but then I didn't accept a single carrier bag in a shop last year - all shopping done with reusable bags!) Box thing found a home to take my delicates whilst waiting for washing too.

My first UU since I rejoined this thread - Lush Bath bomb with bits of roses in it OH bought for our anniversary 18 months ago - WIBA? No hate the bits of rose in it - picked most out - and much prefer bubbles - but it's gone and I'm a step nearer to the 5 bottles of Molton Brown my brother bought me for Christmas!

Feel better for a good soak, all scrubbed and moisturised too with face mask!
