Well i managed today without buying a thing :j

UU i finally finished a pack of cotton wool balls that i must have had at least 8 years as they had the old superdrug logo on them and its not been on any products since ive worked there and thats 7 1/2 years :o am not onto a pack from safeway.... and when did its name change :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I have a problem.... my skin is not taking kindly to all this pampering.... am not sure if its due to it being my first day back at work and it was a bit stressful or maybe cause i put too much moisturiser on.... my face is in a bit of a mess :( i will persivere for a few days and see how i get on

Im also putting £1 away for every UU i have and am hoping that the money i put away will pay for my wedding hair and make up in September.... need to get using more.... also need to find the money to put away :p

Hi All. It's been good fun reading all your threads and checking out what everyone uses (nosey moi?). Thanks for the heads up on the Clinique mascaras - will look into this more.

Reading this thread reminded me that we have the new Avon brocure and as I'm nearly out of night cream (when I say nearly I have about two squeezes left of my Elemis Pro Collagen Oxygenating Night Cream, about half a tube of Elemis Moisture Day Cream and half a pot of Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference that I can use!) I was wondering if there are any Avon night creams that anyone can recommend. They're all half price at the mo.

Remember with Avon stuff if you order it, try it, and don't like it, you can get a full no quibble refund for up to 90 days. See, you don't get that from Boots, do you! :D As for recommendations, for a really effective budget buy I would suggest something from the "Avon Care" range - £1.75 in Campaign 2's book - and that gets you a large pot which will last ages. For something a little more luxurious check out the Solutions range - they are targeted to individual skin concerns so you can find one which is radiance boosting, wrinkle-busting or balancing for example.

    Hope that helps! :)

QONMW - what a shame the glitch didn't work for you! OK everyone, I was browsing the Harrods site (for the first time ever lol) in the sale, drooling over the designer bags, then checked out the toiletries section and lo and behold, this was priced at £20 but adding to basket at £0.00!!!

    http://www.harrods.com/product/molton-brown/global-bath-and-shower-gift/000000000001976190?icid=search-result

Anyhoo, decided to order 'a few' :o and also added some shampoo in the hope that it would slip through. Got an email from Harrods the next day saying 'item out of stock' (noooo) but.... it was the shampoo that was OOS!!! And now the order is marked as 'goods issued'!!!!! I will let you all know if I receive it, would be soooo chuffed :)

    Further update :)

I had a missed delivery note today... 2 parcels from Harrods :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j

Finally checking in for this month, 2 uu's already, one of the test product Shampoo and Conditioner pairs - WIBA, even if I knew what they were no, I found my hair felt greasy less than 24 hours after I washed it.

Has any got any ideas for using up baby powder(talc) - got some as presents for my little un when he was born but don't want to use them on him.

Talc is useful for lots of different things - stopping floorboards squeaking for one thing! It's good as a foot/sock/shoe deodoriser. In the dim and distant past I used it to mask marks on a white mattress (Army quarters!)
If you are desperate you can use it as a dry shampoo, I did this a lot in school in the Seventies as back then I was only allowed to wash my hair twice a week and come Wednesday and Saturday mornings it was like the proverbial chip pan.
I remember reading that warmed talc could be used as a degreasant to remove oily marks from fabrics and rugs. No idea if it works.
