No Buying Toiletries in Jan 2011 !!!!

Hmmm why have I got such a large stash  I am a toiletries shopaholic (that's the main reason), I'm overweight and find it difficult to buy clothes in my size so my treat is toiletries and make up. The other reasons my stash got so big is that I can't resist a bargain you know the 2 for £3 sort of deals and also I love the Boots Christmas ranges, I put them on my Christmas "wish list" and am lucky enough to be spoiled , then when the sale starts I stock up like mad! It was only when I stumbled across this forum that I actually made a list of what I've got - which was a huge shock!Always be yourself, unless you can be a Unicorn - then always be a Unicorn !

UU S&G Sit Tight, WIBA yes once summer is a bit more on the way! Good stuff, I think it makes a slight difference, £6 in the stash pot.Debt free and busy treating myself:)
No more toiletries/make up until I've used what I've got stashed since Jan 2011, graduated October 2012. Restocked Dec 13..damn those sales0 -
Hi all,
I've not posted for about 3 weeks and in that time the only UU i've had have been a deodrant and a toothpaste. The deodrant has not been replaced as had another in stock and the toothpaste was the last one we had so this was replaced but came out the weekyl shopping that my OH pays for.
However, i'm so chuffed to say that since January 1st i have bought a total of

ZERO toiletries. I'm so chuffed and am certain this is part of the reason i've been able to save £500 from the pay i got at the end of December. We had a quiet and cheap Christmas (excluding the presents which we had already saved for). Also we have not been to Tesco's since before January 1st as we are having the shopping delivered so have cut back on this as well.
QVC seems to be a thing of the past as i haven't really watched it at all in January (although there is a Kipling TSV at midnight tonight which i may succumb to!).
I can't believe i've actually managed a month without new toiletries it feels so liberating.
Like Tracey, i'm overweight and never enjoy clothes shopping so bags and toiletries were something that always fitted! But i'm working on the weight and getting more exercise. I totally slipped this week and had a few pig outs so from Monday i'm back on it bg style as i only have 16 weeks till my holiday and i HAVE to lose weight to cope with the 11 hour flight!
I'm a little lazy and haven't read the previous 60 or so pages but well done to everyone else who is using up and not buying un-needed toiletries. Big hugs to all xx0 -
Added 5 items into my stash today
4x 150ml deodorant £1 each and n early used up the one I am using.
1x face moisturizer same as above nearly out of the one I am using.
Plus it was payday yesterday so spend on essentials now so I don't forget later when I am desperate for them!

lush space girl bomb- got this as a present and didnt like it very much which is suprising considering it is lush
virgin vie eyeshadow watercolour eyes -got a pile of virgin vie stuff with a qype voucher last year? i loved the colour of this but i think i am allergic to it so gave it to dearest mother£365 a year spend challenge - this has included food/clothes/beauty?? who knows where I am
20,000 step a day challenge0 -
Fresh out of the bath, with the UU I was expecting (pantene shine WIBA? no,still hunting for my HG shampoo/conditioner,but need to buy some now cos I have NONE left!!) and the botanics moisturiser - WIBA? no,not as nice as others though perfectly adequate.
and one suprising UU - a body shop think it was cranberry and blackcurrant or something like that soap that I only started a couple of weeks ago - its only lasted about 8 baths - WIBA?? no- not at the cost/bath ratio, I may be a size 20 and very wobbly in the middle, but theres not THAT much flesh to clean!!!
I dont really know why Ive got such a stash - I think its the promises that they all give that "you will smell nice/be beautiful/this product will change your life" that sucks me in, and when another one comes out - there I am.... but this thread ( Katie Clampett is a GODESS in my eyes for starting this!!) has really sorted me out. I just need to find my HG and Im sorted - and Im not buying new until I actually need it,so its making things so much easier !!!
welcome newbies - and well done everyone !! New month soon, containing my birthday, but thankfully there are 3 days less to have to be tempted....
xxDo not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup0 -
evening all,
I have to confess I took advantage of the superdrug Batiste offer, but in my defence we do use it quite a bit in our house for it's volumising effect ( we do wash our hair!!)
uu - moschino cheap & chic 50ml perfume (finally!) - this is ok, but smells a bit 'soapy' for me so I wouldn't buy it again - off stash shopping for the next one!
happy pampering girlies, xx0 -
Well Ive sort of got some UU - Ive mixed my vitamin e oil with my bottom butter - have now got a full tub (the tub from my horrible orange body shop stuff!) for my face.... IM off for a bath in a bit,so will UU my pantene (and be down to NO shampoo at all - I STILL havent bought any despite talking about it for weeks !!!!) and I should think it will be the end of my botanics hair reducing moisturiser too. WIBA?? no- its nice, but there are others that are just as nice out there. (plus,im a ted baker convert - so yay!!)
Im going to ebay my fearne stuff and the gok set that I got in the boots sale - dont like the gok smells at all, and im not all that impressed with the fearne box - though if I dont sell either,Im sure I will think of someone to give them to !!
I had a potential in today too - Im a subscriber to Glamour mag - and there was a letter with todays that gives subscribers the chance to buy 15mls of Thierry Mugler "Angel" perfume for £15.83 with a free full size Angel shower gel... (total RRP would be somewhere around £55) I thought I might get one and ebay them - do you lot think they would sell??? seems a bit silly to not do it if they will sell well? (never sold perfumes on there!)
Definitely list the perfume... it sells really well on eBay!! Sometimes for more than the RRP  Look up completed listings for Angel to see how much it normally sells for. Be prepared for lots of interest from overseas though (I never post overseas and say so in my listings so when I see 15 new messages asking 'Hi will you ship to Malta/Cyprus/Italy?', my heart sinks).Good luck! :T
You've just reminded me to list my Fearne hatbox... I *love* the box so will keep that and list the contents. I'd be happy to make a fiver from it as I only wanted the box itself and paid £10 for it in the 75% sale.

p.s. sundance218, the Boots voucher is the £5 skincare one for Olay, L'Oreal, Sanctuary, Dr Nick Lowe, ROC etc. You only need to spend £3.50 to earn one as well (it used to be £5 spend). HTH!!
I haven't had a bath yet, just feel too chilly and want to snuggle up on the couch. But I want to pamper myself as well.... decisions...

I want to include three mascaras to the stash.
My absolute favourite in the whole wide world is benefit bad gal. But it doesn't like me back
I had to go into college for an induction (last minute thing; my lecturer for a previous course managed to get me a place on a higher course (fast track with a view to degree), no interview or anything needed - whatever he said to the dept. head worked. Well done that man :T). Wanting to look half decent, I had my bad gal on. Only when I looked in the mirror after I came out, I looked like a panda. It was ALL below my eyesTotally fed up with it now, so I went straight into boots to get some maybelline define-a-lash (which was 3-4-2, and I had a voucher for Christmas).
Will never, EVER buy bad gal again0
