    (snipped)

for me a lot of my skin creams come from GWP's as I tended to aim purchases of my (then) regular stuff to coincide with special offers.

everything else is down to either not being able to resist what appeared to be a good deal at the time or presents from other people. Or the other biggie - being totally suckered in by advertising - although I think I'm getting better at this!
me too:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:which is why I have sooooo many body butters from BS:eek:
someone suggested I gave them away as gifts BUT they are rather girly smells and there are mostly males in my family and cost to send to female relatives too much with weight of body butters:(not sure if they would go down as raffle prizes either. We do a charity stall at flower club BUT we only pay £1 for a raffle ticket and all tend to give gifts that cost a lot more so does seem a bit silly:rotfl:it is help for heros this year so hope we do well anyway ....still got the monster soap stash to get rid of yet:rotfl::rotfl:

UU this morning - some chocolate smelling body lotion from a Boots gift set I got at Christmas. WIB? Well, not sure if you can. However, it's a lovely consistency and moisturisers well but I'm not keen on the smell. Same as the toffee apple one I had. Just need to plough through the choccy shower cream and that set will all have been UU :)

Had a lovely soak, no use ups though.....

I'm really enjoying the L'Occitaine body lotion that mum bought me about two years ago, makes my skin feel lovely, can't believe i've not started using this previously (i've always been a bit lazy and could never get into the habit of putting body lotions and moisturisers on!)

Also, this week I opened a Tony & Guy mousse, however didn't like the way it made my hair feel, although the volume was great, so might not be using it again (possibly put it on ebay!) what else could you recommend to give my hair a bit of volume? Is there anything that doesn't give a 'sticky' feel??

Oh and one more question, is there a benefit of putting on hand and nail lotion, when you constantly have nail polish on??

    Thanks :T

I always use john frieda range & the volumizing shampoo is great, most jf range is on offer at boots, a tip with expensive shampoo's is you only need the tiniest amount in your palm, rub hands together, then massage in hair, make sure hair is wet through, i wash my hair everyday & the jf bottle will last at least 6 months, so though a bit more expensive in long run works out cheaper :j

How did you find this out? I need to know when the next Clarins gift thingy will be :o

Well THIS LINK is useful for Clinique - I don't know whether Clarins have anything similar?
UU: Clarins body butter (small tube) I would buy it again but have loads more to use

On another note, I was just wondering how everyone here comes to have such large stashes? For me, it is due to getting lots of toiletries as birthday and Christmas presents and then taking up any offers of shampoo, deodrant, face wash etc in the shops - Boots normally!

Plus, as I am a uni student living away from home, I like to have things at home and at uni so often have 2 shampoos etc on the go to save having to take one back and forward with me wherever I go

Have a good day everyone! :)

We had some discussion about this earlier in the challenge, and judging by the realisations that were hitting people it seems that it would be a great idea to venture down that conversational path again. My situation resonated with a lot of people I think - the thing of having nice -products, then almost being reluctant to use them as then I wouldn't have the nice stuff any more. Combine that with the common theme of not being able to resist a bargain and enter one large (although not so bad as some) stash. Taking part in the challenge has shown me three things very clearly:
    1) Keeping a nice product hanging around for ages and not using it just means that when you DO come to use it, it's not so nice any more.
    2) There will always be another bargain or glitch around the corner. The offers that BS are doing at the moment? Something similar was around at the same time last year, and they have so many "glitches" on their online ordering that there is no way they don't do it deliberately to suck people in.
    3) Just because a product is expensive, or with a premium label, doesn't always mean that it's going to be better than a cheaper alternative. I Love Clinique Sparkle Skin exfoliator, but at £19 a tub now, it will be a very long while before I can justify that again - however, there is a S&G scrub that is very *nearly* as good.

Good tip off about the Superdrug points thing too - will be interesting to see if that materialises as I know Superdrug's stance has always been that they have targetted prices to be sufficiently cheaper than Boots that they can justify not having a loyalty scheme - IMO though this is rarely the case - they are often 1 - 2% cheaper (literally pennies) but not the 5% they ned to be to beat the advantage card draw, and that is before the regular incentives of extra points etc from Boots.

I've actually price-compared on products between SD & Boots, but rarely found sufficient price difference. Also as you say Kaz it doesn't hold the same temptation for me as Boots although I'm not sure why that is - layout and familiarity perhaps?

I'm the same... it's because Boots has a bigger selection of brands, a nicer, shinier store and loads of GLITCHES! :T:rotfl:

Without opening my mouth and putting my foot in it... :p depends how much you have to lose?? I would say realistically 2lb per week.....

I have almost 2 stone to lose in all - well, 23lbs (going from 10st2lbs to about 8st7lbs)... obviously not going to lose that in 5 weeks but 8-10lbs would be great. I'm hoping to tone up at Curves as well, they place a big emphasis on toning as well as cardio which is great. They emasured me the other day and I am going to get measured before hols to see how I'm doing. Inch loss is more important to me than weight loss!

p.s. :rotfl: at your OH! What did he do, buy the dearest version of everything or did he buy 'off-list'? :)

I am the same as everyone else, I can't resist a glitch/bargain! My stash only started when I discovered the Grabbit board! :rotfl: And I have been guilty of keeping the poshest products 'for a special occasion', that's all out the window now! I use everything and it feels nice to have a regular treat :)

EssexHebridean put it very nicely. :D

p.s. I keep toiletries at my mum's too, I visit at least once a month for a weekend so it's handy to have stuff there.

    Hey Ladies!

Just done a tally up of this month.

    Used Up:
Avon Naturals Body Lotion- WIBA- No.
    Avon Body Lotion- WIBA- Yes.
    Toner-WIBA- No.
    Johnsons Baby Powder- WIBA- Yes.
    3 Nail Varnishes- WIBA- No.
    Avon Body Spray- WIBA- Yes.
    Sanctuary Hand Cream- WIBA- Yes.
    Olive Oil Soap- WIBA- No.

    Ins:
    Body Shop Vitamin E Soap
Body Shop Shea Butter Soap.- at the time these were both free.
HUGE Body Shop Moringa Shower Gel- I paid £2.50 for it. JUSTIFIED :D:D:D
Body Shop large Strawberry Holdall- It was a gift :)
3 Cans of Batiste- For my sisters.
3 Cans of Batiste- For me.
1 body lotion, 1 body butter and a shower gel- donated by my mother.

I have decided that for every use up that ISN'T Nailvarnish, toothpaste or deodrant, £5 will go into the ISA, and for Nail varnish, toothpast or deodrant, £1.

I'm pretty pleased with my in's because they aren't duplicates of anything I already have and the majority are gifts/long lasting generic items. The Vitamin E washbar for example, will replace the TONNES of cleanser and toner I have to use up, but will probably last longer.

Looks like I started something with the foam party.... Reading the small print dotted around the Foam Party website, Clairol want everyone to give it a go in early March and report back en masse.

:rotfl: they could be regretting this if we all get in.....
