UU: Clarins body butter (small tube) I would buy it again but have loads more to use

On another note, I was just wondering how everyone here comes to have such large stashes? For me, it is due to getting lots of toiletries as birthday and Christmas presents and then taking up any offers of shampoo, deodrant, face wash etc in the shops - Boots normally!

Plus, as I am a uni student living away from home, I like to have things at home and at uni so often have 2 shampoos etc on the go to save having to take one back and forward with me wherever I go

Have a good day everyone! :)

My stash has built up from buying "bargains", impulse buys of things that I am convinced will sort out some problem or another and which don't work as I imagined so then I buy the next big thing and also gifts.

Finished a day cream yesterday and some cotton buds the other day. I decanted my talc into a new one so kind of cheated there. Getting low on toothpaste , body lotion and shower gel so hopefully those will be gone soon.

Did buy two packs of cotton buds and two packs of cotton pads but only because they were both a good price. Didn't really need either of them though as still have two of each left in stash.

Thought I had another uu to report but can't for the life of me remember what it is.

My stash isn't a patch on some, but it grew because I liked the idea of things, liked to treat myself by buying them, but didn't use them - foot creams, body butters etc etc. Pink Rose Candle Philosophy has blown that out of the water and this thread has stopped the buying dead.

TWO UU's! The first was a large Mitchum women's anti -persp. It's not so much WIBA as will I ever buy anything else? I found a Garnier Minerals when my old bed was removed this week, so I will have to use that at some stage. The Mitchum that's replacing it in the bathroom was one my son borrowed for ages until he bought his own men's version. So there's only 1/5 left in the bottle but with Mitchum that's a couple of months.
There is another full size virtually full Mitchum waiting in the wings to replace that one. Plus a baby Mitchum I use for holidays.
The other UU was a FCUK Pure Body Lotion - really a cream, very thick and luxurious, WIBA ... mmm.... perhaps, will have to see, because no doubt it is pricey and 2011 is now the Year of Not Paying Cash.

I was seriously tempted in Durham Savers today. A big tube of cocoa butter cream for a quid. I was a bit naughty, I flipped up the top of one and had a little sample. It was nice - wonderful value for a quid - but it was just a nice cream. I've got so much nice cream still to use. I didn't need it.
    Phew!

What would I have done if it had been utterly gorgeous?! Please don't ask...

  • Gosh! I haven't been on here for a few days and there is loads to catch up on!

My stash has grown from glitches and gifts. People always buy me toiletries. I hope they aren't trying to tell me something!

    2 UU to report!

Boots Extracts Almond Body Wash: WNBA - just wasn't that impressed. It wasn't rubbish, but wasn't lovely either so I'll try something else after I've emptied my stash.

S&G Butter Up: WIBA? Yes but I've got a funny feeling it's discontinued, I haven't seen it in my local boots for ages. Tho I do have 16 BS butters to get through first.

Does anyone eBay their unwanted unopened toiletries? I've got quite a few bits and bobs so thought about eBay. Is it worth it?

Another small UU today and my only IN in January. UU is Clinique Eye Make Up Remover 30mls. Only have the 60mls size left in the stash so in keeping with the one in use and one in stash I have nipped out to Sainsburys and picked up the L'Oreal one that has been recommened here. I am hoping to love this as much as my clinique one.

For me the stash was created by QVC TSV buying because I've ended up with loads of travel tubes! I buy the kits because I'm conned by their excellent value when I'm usually paying for the one item I want and then telling myself that the extra money required to purchase the kit gets me extra products to try for a fraction of their price when I probably wouldn't want to try them anyway!!

No INs for me this week (probably the first of the whole month!). Have only been shopping at Pets at Home (or whatever it's called) and Sainsbury's today. Bought some cotton wool and MrM got a new razor from Sainsbury's and that was all.

Had to throw out my Carmex lip balm today because foolishly I left the pot on my windowsill all day yesterday and it's turned! Thankfully it was spluttering so haven't wasted too much of it. Have started one of my Burts Bees tubes that I bought in the Boots sale. WIB Carmex again? Yes though not for a while as I have 3 x Burts Bees to get through.

Have discovered a new body butter that I love this week - Boots Extracts Fairtrade Mango one - it's lovely and creamy and my skin has still felt moisturised a day later after application. Not sure how economical this is though. I bought a kit with 5 x 50ml tubs in and I've gone through most of the tub on two applications! Will see whether I repurchase once I've used all the different "flavours" I think.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

  • UU Botanics vitamin recover mask (this is the rebranded one Pure from Poundland) - I used this as a face wash in the end as its quite creamy and I have to admit it has helped to clear up the spots I got from the S&G scrub your nose in it. I have another one to use.

The S&G scrub your nose in it has now become a foot scrub as I do not want to chance anymore breakouts! Its very mentholy so I will have sweet feet! lol

why did i get my huge stash? I guess it's for a couple of reasons:
    1. I felt that i really should do things like moisturise, cleanse etc but then just didn't.
    2. Been given things that i can't use because of my excema but feel ungrateful if i give them away etc. Same applies to trying to find shampoos and conditioners, trying to find the ones which don't agravate my skin is a nightmare.
    3. Deep down i guess i've always felt i'm too ugly & huge to deserve being looked after and making an effort over
    4. People have bought me lots of Sancturary sets as gifts and because they seem to last an age i just can't keep up with them coming in.
    5. I seem to buy lots of things on offers even if i don't need them.

I'm working on all of these issues, and at least more are being used up than are coming in the house. I can't see any need for me to buy anything in Feb so that's my challenge to myself.

During Jan i have 11 outs, of which 4 were give aways.
I had 8 ins, 4 of which were gifts.
Net reduction is 3 :(:( which is a bit lame really.
