Such a good idea this challenge. I followed along since the autumn when I discovered the old thread and managed to use up a few bits. Now I have put my stash into my Soap and Glory tote bag (got at Xmas) together with the other Xmas smellies and will be working my way through it all.0

If it is ok I will join in this. I do not have as much as everybody else but I was bought a few gift sets for xmas which I normally tend to re gift when I have no money for presents. Instead I have opened them and started to use them.
The only thing I need to buy is shampoo and conditioner as I have just about run out...0 -
Oh lordy, 9 pages already! I'm only as far as page 2!
Welcome to all the newbies and hello to the long haulers
QONMW - what a shame the glitch didn't work for you! OK everyone, I was browsing the Harrods site (for the first time ever lol) in the sale, drooling over the designer bags, then checked out the toiletries section and lo and behold, this was priced at £20 but adding to basket at £0.00!!!
http://www.harrods.com/product/molton-brown/global-bath-and-shower-gift/000000000001976190?icid=search-result
Anyhoo, decided to order 'a few'and also added some shampoo in the hope that it would slip through. Got an email from Harrods the next day saying 'item out of stock' (noooo) but.... it was the shampoo that was OOS!!! And now the order is marked as 'goods issued'!!!!! I will let you all know if I receive it, would be soooo chuffed
Re the Clinique mascara swap, it's probably just any old mascara, same as in BootsI am in for this one too. I have humungous amounts of hair stuff, shampoo, conditioner, perfumes, creams etc.
My weakness is Poundland - I must avoid at all costs!
Poundland? For toiletries? Our local branches never seem to have much in the way of smellies.Replying now to last months thread before I forget...
Joanna Yeates lived reasonably close to me (and many others on here I suspect).
Her story has been on our local news for a while. Her family are in the prayers of my family and I. DH and his family all said that they thought something suspicious about the landlord. I watched the news where he was shown doing the weird talk back to the camera (sky) and thought it was a bit iffy. I also noticed DH doing the old (whhhhhhhs, deep breath in) which means I can't say anything right now as children are still awake.
I hope to God that the perpetrator of this awful crime is found and I hope that everyone involved manages to find peace after this awful event. May God Bless Joannas soul, she was taken too soon.
I have had a lot of reflection this Christmas and new year. I buried my step mother in February, found out that my father has incurable prostate cancer in November and told my half sister that we had to allow him to not continue with treatment and die sooner so that he could have some sort of life left.
I then saw my cousin's (who is like my brother) god father, a dear family friend, admitted to hospital very unwell. I was supposed to look after him and pulled the family card as I wanted to be able to visit and be with him as a supporter without knowing all details. This chap was a role model to us and took many of us as DofE members. It turned out that he had incurable cancer and 8 weeks after becoming ill he died on 16th December. We held his funeral yesterday and it went on for 2 hours. I have never been to a funeral that went on for that length of time. The church was full, standing room only and we gave him a darn good send off.
It was during this funeral that my sister and I realised that 1. there were more people here who cared about him than our father, 2. He actually cared far far more deeply for us and our children and for much longer than our father and 3. we were more upset for the loss of him than we will be for our father.
Don't get me wrong. I will be gutted when my Dad dies but as DH pointed out to me, I will probably be mourning the loss of what I SHOULD have had for the kids.
There are a huge amount of people mourning at this time of year. I send a prayer and light a candle for each and every one of them.
My message for you all, and one which I would like ALL of us to follow is to please take a leaf from the book of

Body sprays seem to be a frequent request. She doesn't work and I'm happy to help her, but she could derail my not buying.
I've just given her one of the very few Original Source shower gels I haven't liked, the Winter special edition of black pepper and cardamom.
I might put some small bottles to one side and give her those instead of the full size bottles. I know, that sounds mean...
However, my daughter (32) did briskly point out, "Mum, when you were out of work, nobody helped you, you just bought Tesco Value."
It's not mean at all!!! Your daughter has a point. You are being very generous to her and she is lucky to have such a good friend.Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Lemongrass - Are you another Sanctuary fan??? Whats the ones in blue please???
Hi, yes i like Sanctuary, it's about the only stuff i've found which doesn't irritate my excema which has gotten to a dire stage by the time i found Sanctuary. Most of it is gifts to be honest! thankfully it's not all my money which has been invested in it
The ones in blue are the bottles which are in use at the moment.0 -
Thanks to Trudi for the new post and welcome to all newbies.
I had a sort out of a basket of reading material which I keep at the side of the settee and discovered I've got 2 ins to report! After sorting out the basket, I left the oldest magazines at the top of the pile. I read the oldest one last night (April 2008 ) and found inside a sachet of L'Oreal Derma Genese Serum and a sachet of L'Oreal Derma Genese Day Cream.
I've UU a 60g sachet of Sanctuary Salt Scrub. This is more "heavy duty" than the body scrubs I usually use but I have to say it has done a great job of making my skin soft - my OH even commented! I have got a jar of this in my stash and so that's good news.0
