can someone explain something to me?
You've all seen my list and i've got about 5 shampoos and about 8 conditioners so why oh why oh WHY did i have to spend 5mins in Asda yesterday talking myself out of buying two bottle of tresemme (which seems to last years) just because they were two for a Fiver which is a good price. I tried talking myself into buying them for my sister and her girls just so i could buy them even though they mostly need conditioner and i've loads of extras in my box.
Thankfully i walked away but it's madness!
I've just realised that during my student days and later i always seemed to have a black sack full of soaps, toiletries which have never been used. This hoarding appears to have gone on for a long time.
I also think some of my problem is that i get things because i feel i ought to be using them and then i don't0 -
I am determind to get rid of the two storage boxes in the top of my wardrobe by Febuary so had a go this morning at geting everything into one have to say I failed miserabley however did manage to uu one handcream cut it open, threw away 6 old products at put 9 unopened products for the charity shop.0

Hi everyone, I'm back again! I have too much stuff to list it all (that's why I really need this challenge!) but I have a few use ups to note already:
Clarins Hydramatte Day Lotion 50ml: WIBA? Yes I think I would, if it weren't for the price tag! Great for my oily/combo skin, keeps it matte yet really hydrates!
TBS Pink Grapefruit Body Scrub 50ml: WIBA? Well I have a massive 250ml to use up now, not as scrubby as I like a scrub to be but nice scent. Probably will go back to S&G for scrubs now.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -

I don't know the answer to this either, but one of the most helpful things I think you can do if you feel like this is to just cut out the supermarket toiletry aisles completely.(or Grabbit Board etc, whatever your weakness!). I never do the toiletries in the supermarket any more, it also makes supermarket shopping much quicker and keeps the bill down!
The offers and deals will always be around when you need them, you can research them online, then visit the shop or Poundshops when you specifically need things. I don't always go along with how much these deals save you, if you factor in the unnecessary impulse buys too, unless you are particularly disciplined.
Better to avoid imo.

No UU's to report yet
But i do have 1 splutter, my treseme conditioner.
The shampoo still seems to have about 1/3 left in it. Started using both at the same time, 500ml bottles as well! Anyone seem to use more conditioner than shampoo?0 -

always...I used about half a bottle of shampoo to a bottle of conditioner, I do have very thick, frizzy naturally curly hair though. I've learnt to buy 2 bottles of conditioner for every bottle of shampoo now*wonders when they will make dressing gowns acceptable day wear?*No new toiletries challenge - use up the stash first!NSD Jan 2/150 -

maybe you could offer to help your friend manage her money better? I wouldn't mind helping anyone out but if it's every month and becomes expected I'd find myself getting annoyed quite quickly, no one likes a f r e e l o a d e r (sorry for typing it weird it was recognising it as a swear word and replacing it with !!!!! for some reason!Me too - methinks friend is slightly taking the mick - dont you DARE feel bad about giving her little ones rather than full size, she should think herself bloody lucky to get those!!!!!
( Im such a horrible cow!!)
I agree mini's are a great ideaalyssa_liss wrote: »scrub your nose in it, i love that , i got it in the tote aswell , it seems to be working on me
I'm loving it too, trying not to use it every day though with it being a face scrub, I've tried leaving it on as a mask and it was ok-ish, prefer a 'real' face mask though*wonders when they will make dressing gowns acceptable day wear?*No new toiletries challenge - use up the stash first!NSD Jan 2/150 -
QONMW - what a shame the glitch didn't work for you! OK everyone, I was browsing the Harrods site (for the first time ever lol) in the sale, drooling over the designer bags, then checked out the toiletries section and lo and behold, this was priced at £20 but adding to basket at £0.00!!!

Anyhoo, decided to order 'a few'and also added some shampoo in the hope that it would slip through. Got an email from Harrods the next day saying 'item out of stock' (noooo) but.... it was the shampoo that was OOS!!! And now the order is marked as 'goods issued'!!!!! I will let you all know if I receive it, would be soooo chuffed
keep us posted, defo be one of the best glitches I've heard of if it works...and I think you should share them out if you do get them...I know how many you orderedlol

Guilty as charged! I'm currently using an extremely old Toni & Guy shampoo with a Trevor Sorbie Long Hair conditioner - neither are anything I'm enjoying using that much, but needless to say they are dragging on for what feels like forever! I have to confess to shampooing twice even if I don't need to in a bid to get rid of the shampoo quicker!Queen_of_NO_MATTER_WHAT wrote: »always...I used about half a bottle of shampoo to a bottle of conditioner, I do have very thick, frizzy naturally curly hair though. I do that too! Sounds like our hair types are pretty much identical!
mcculloch sounds like an awkward situation with your friend - maybe next time she asks for something say something along the lines of "Oh, I don't have any of those spare at the moment - but I do have a spare *whatever product suits* that you can have if you like" - you're still offering her something, but it gets you out of the loop of actually buying extra as a result of giving stuff away perhaps?
