No Buying Toiletries in Jan 2011 !!!!

The challenge has taken a double whammy this week, maybe even a triple whammy!
It's my birthday on Monday and I have an inter-semester week at university, so I have come home to see the family and give my little sister her Body Shop bargain gift. This has been a bit of a fail move as follows:
1- I've been away from the stash- I think my mom would be offended if I bought back a wash bag full of toiletries, so i'm using the normal and LOVELY products at my moms. No opportunity for use ups!
2- Every year, someone buys my mom a bath set for christmas. This is a bit weird because it's a close family member who knows that we have a wet room. This means that I am given a pile of body (my mom doesn't really use body lotions/butters- finds them too greasy) and bath items. I have no bath either, so these will be used as shower lotions. The Body Butter will naturally be utilised
3- It's my birthday. This means that I will surely get some toiletries.
Also, my mother is going on about how amazing Liz Earle cleanse and polish is. I just want to remind her of the stack of cleansers and toners that she already has. Same thing with my nan and shower gel!
I sound like a moaning ungrateful harridan, don't i?
Take care and congratulations on the use ups!0 -

My personal view of these schemes is to avoid them. In this day and age, with mortgages becoming very difficult to get, house prices cannot continue to rise at silly rates. I think that we will start to see a correction albeit gradual. I think your best bet is to keep saving and get a good deposit behind you. This will give you more options long term.
These properties seem like a good plan but only a few places supply this type of mortgage and cut your chances of being able to get a good value long term mortgage. I have heard anecdotal evidence that it can be very hard to move on from these properties as they are not easy to sell. You may find yourself inadvertantly stuck in a 1 bedroom flat with a family of 4 as you can't sell and can't remortgage.
Think long and hard before you go into it.
Back on topic (sorry ladies!).....

Freeze shower gel, wiba no. I didn't like it as a shower gel but loved it as a hand wash. However its very expensive to use as a hand wash and its retro which means buying it onluy through MO.
is that Lush?I had some in a box but not sure I fancy it in the winter:rotfl:0 -

Oh I love Tenerife. Hope I didn't get confused with who posted this! sorry if I did! We were over there last Easter - wish we were going back. Where are you staying? Tenerife is fabulous for discounted fragrances. I always head to Fund Grube at Playa las Americas and buy Decleor goodies from there. Not that I'm encouraging anything, you understand. xBack for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

On those going on winter breaks- can i come please? I fold up REALLY small, I don't eat anything and I'm hardly ANY trouble at all! I'll fit really nicely into your suitcase ( or even hand luggage if you're trying to save cash!) which'll mean you can't bring back too many duty free goodies!0
