Cant keep up with the thread. I am now using up a ASDA smart price shampoo, just so that I do not buy anything else this month. I usually use Dove if I can.!
Havent bought anything new so far though!. Still loads of other potions and lotions to use up.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
another UU to report at last - this one has actually lasted me AGES!!
BS african shea salt scrub kilner jar. WIBA - yes once ive used up my stash as it really did last a very long time (almost 2 years..) and never failed to do what its supposed to. and made my skin lovely and soft! xxxCurrent Mortgage balance - £363,785.35/£420,000 (highest point Oct 2022).0 -
Not a big step for some but it is for me, went into Boots today and managed to not buy anything
We understand :rotfl: Well done! :Tsunshineyday wrote: »Have to go and have a rummage through the stash now and decide what to use next, that's one of the things I love about this challenge - my stash has become my own little personal 'shop' where I can decide what to use without having the hassle of actually going shopping (realise that probably sounds a bit mad :rotfl:)
No, I know what you mean! It's great
I am all preened and pampered from last night, my feet especially are feeling the benefits, they are so soft compared to what they usually are lol.

EssexHebridean wrote: »I think it is as time consuming as you want to make it Tara. I have a medium sized territory with 151 houses on it. Of those, around 20% have asked not to have books, and around 20% are customers - which equates to about 1 house in 4 by the time you take into account those that don't get books. (Confused yet? Excellent!
) My area has been badly messed about by several previous reps, and it has taken me until literally the current campaign to really start getting the trust of people properly - now I am getting orders from new customers each campaign which is great. I print up A5 sized flyers to go in the bags with the books pointing people in the direction of special offers etc, which takes a little time but pays off. Having a car is helpful, but not essential so long as you get territory close to home - you could do it with a trolley for the heavy stuff (first drops of books when you are carrying a load) and a sturdy bag for the lighter stuff. Avon are pretty good about giving you territory close to home, and even more so if you ask for it. Deliveries are once every three weeks for the most part, and you would need to either be at home to receive it or have a place of safety it can be left for you. Each trip out to deliver books take 20 - 30 minutes depending on numbers. There is also a bit of time getting books ready to go out (Assembled in the bags with their flyers, order forms etc) and sorting out the order when it is delivered, plus of course delivering to customers. I would guess it averages at 2 - 3 hours per week.
Re earnings - Min order value is £78, below this level you pay book prices and earn zero. Once you hit MOV the commission is 20%, once you hit HOV it's 25%. You have to pay for your brochures, paper bags and carrier bags - my 60 books cost me around £9 and the paper bags in particular are pretty cheap - I've got a pack of small ones coming this time and have got 50 for 24p.
Sorry that got a bit wordy but I wanted to explain as much stuff as I could think of! You're never going to make your fortune at it, but if you put the effort in you can earn £50+ each campaign and of course if ou like the products you're able to buy those (as and when you need them!) at reps prices.
Kaz - how lovely that even when they were so ill your ladies really wanted to look their best. Maybe a lesson can be taken forwards for the rest of us there - as presumably they realised that looking good helped them to feel better. I guess it's a bit like what And said the other day about it being really therapeutic for those with disabilities to adopt the pink rose candle philosophy. For what it's worth, I think your ladies and their families were lucky to have you caring for them in their last days - it comes across each time you post on the subject just how dedicated you are to your job, and how much you love it. :T
Thanks for the info on Avon. Not sure if I have time for it atm with eBay and everything, but may look into it once I've sold everything I need to (could be all year at this stage... but sales are going great, see my updated sig!!!).

uu Clarins melt cleanser WBA(already have!) really like it and as it is not too expensive is a good item to buy to get GWP at bonus time:)

KAZ loved the story about old ladies, when my mum was dying she went to a hospice and they did her nails(1st time for her) and hair and she was thrilled to look good whilst feeling so ill.
waiting in all day today fro deliveries ,1 this morning then tesco this afternoon.
anyone watch silent Witness last night?I was nearly in tears(OK I know its not real but have watched for years and feel like I know the characters)won't say what happened in case soem people have taped and not watched yet.0 -
Morning all, that was a lovely reflection Kaz, it's true that everyone should be pampered and fair play to them not letting their illness affect them!
I have some UU to report:
A botanics conditioner for after dying hair - I cannot remember the last time anyone in the house using a botanics dye so I reckon that this was about 1-2 years old!
A small bottle of shower gel from a set I got at christmas - not sure of the name or make, it was ok but nothing special, I wouldn't buy again.
my Tigi rockstar conditioner *sob sob*, WIBA yes its lovely! but I saw a cheeky deal on TJ Hughes website yesterday and bought 2 litres of TIGI control freak conditioner  for £15 delivered! The shampoo is still at least half full, if not 3/4 full (of a 750ml bottle) so I will cross that bridge when it comes!
Another UU is an Andrew Collinge purity shampoo - WIBA I got this free as a set with a magazine subscription (the silly offers last year where it was £6 for a subscription + free gift + £5 cashback!) and it was ok but nothing special. I still have another shampoo of this to use up and 2 conditioners which I will start on before I use the TIGI one. I also have the body shop rainforest ones (shampoo, conditioner and hairmask, all full size) which I think I won't like from reviews (i think Bronnie reviewed these? sorry if not!) so perhaps will ebay them.
There was a bottle of Fructis conditioner put out in the bathroom yesterday and from previous experience this lasts no time at all in our house, it seems to disappear over night! So i'll stick on of the AC conditioners out alongside it.
Fingers crossed I find out about the job today, and hopefully it's good news
Have a lovely day today ladies (i think the man has deserted us again :rotfl: )

not me, I think it was QONMW ?
I am interested in the effects though, make sure you keep us in the loop!! I am now approaching my mid 20's _pale_ and think it's time I started with an anti wrinkle cream or a wonder cream!
Oh talking of that, reminded me of another UU - An Olay day cream I'd been gifted WIBA It was nice but I think it is a bit pricy for what it is - I have cheaper creams that do the job just as well x0 -
Good luck Roshy. Lovely post Kaz, a great reminder to take care of ourselves and to treasure each day. I'm off to paint my toenails!
Am hoping to finish a Philosophy foot cream today or tomorrow. I can't bear the smell!
Have a good day everyone.Clothes challenge 2011 £254.08/£500!!!Toiletries challenge 2011 Trying!:j:T:j0 -
thanks blondeambition
sorry for the pretty pointless post - my post count was on triple 6 and i hate that number! very superstitious lol0 -
Well that cream that I UU last night did eventualy sink in (or get wiped off on my pillows!) but I was up until gone 1am (night to day mode- grr!) and it was still there when I went to bed.
DH actually complained that my legs were all slimy too when we got into bed as the moisturiser hadn't sunk in fully. It wasn't tacky though and this morning my skin does feel lovely and hydrated.
My hands are not in good condition atm and my nails are somewhat flaky so I need to make a load of effort to keep putting cream on. I'd better avoid the housework too- shame!Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0
