I don't know of any moisturisers off the top of my head with spf.....but i have used Mac Prep and Prime, it's spf 50. But it is only a primer.
Oil of Olay has SPF 15 in it, I've been using it for years, but recently I'm using up my stashy bits. Will be going back to it when they've gone. I only use moisturiser without an SPF at night.I can hardly keep up with this thread!:) have been busy trying to use up the half empty ones and feel like i'm making progress:T
well done to everyone else who is resisting buying and UU their stashes:beer:
Avon celloshine treatment-WIBA? no, discontinued, made my hair heavy and greasy and as shiny as a cello. Assuming cellos aren't shiny:rotfl:
Also have to use up the horrid glow by JLo. Smells awful and lasts the whole day:(
Cellos are usually very shiny when polished properly so obviously this didn't live up to it's name :rotfl::rotfl:
My J Lo Glow went in the charity bag - just couldn't persevere with it any longer:o. I got it free when I subscribed to Glamour mag so at least I didn't waste any money on it :T0 -
got really into my body products but i really want to start setting up a decent facial skincare routine, can anyone recommend any products - nothing too expensive though!
my skin is combination - but more oily than dry if that makes sense! also i tend to have larger pores and quite a reddish tint to my skin!
any recommendations?!
same skin as you nicolax
i used to use liz earle but found it too pricey
now use bodyshop vit e range and love it0 -
I'm also trying to move onto something with SPF. Although, for SPF to fully work you need to apply 2mg/cm2 of skin, which is quite a lot. So for example if something is SPF15, it will realistically become more like SPF5 unless you slap it on thickly. Also, you know how with most suntan lotions you need to reapply every 2 hours? The ingredients react when exposed to the sun and disintegrate. The same would be true for most of the SPF moisturisers. It works out expensive, otherwise you enjoy the sunscreen benefits for 2 hours a day. You don't need sunshine (UVB) for it to disintegrate, normal daylight (UVA) does the job the same.
Better SPF moisturisers have factors 50 and are photostable, so only need to apply once. So if anybody wants to get full on with SPF, that's the products they should go for. They are big stash fillers though, because they're so thick it's really hard to use them! So I gave up and only use the drugstore gimmicks. Getter something then
nothing!
Wow! That has given me food for thought! Super advice!
As I'm 27, I figure I have a bit of time on my hands to use up my non-SPF stash and then go hunting for something else!
Thanks littlepinkstars for studio fix fluid rec. What sort of coverage does it give?Saving all my pennies0 -
Hello
My first post on the forum!
My mum is naturally a brunette and home-dyes blonde with good results. It's short hair so not so expensive. I'm not sure exactly what's the process it but the big part is that she got dad to do it. The results are much better as if she was doing it herself. My dad knows nothing about cosmetics and beauty but he's really good at dyeing as it's more technical. So Marta should attempt to train her man! With 1 dye every 2-3 weeks he will be an expert in no time.
Excellent! What does she use my lovely? Cos it took Marta more than one dye to get to blonde. If there's one that will get here there in one step I'm sure she'd want to know the name of it.Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted. Einstein0 -

She goes through the peroxide thing but not with every dye. The roots are slightly darker but it still looks nice on short hair. She uses the mid-range supermarket stuff, nothing special. Sorry, can't remember the name, I know it's not very useful!0 -

verynewmoneysaver wrote: »Used up a Panteen shampoo for coloured hair; WIBA, yes quite a nice shampoo. Bought half-price shower gel in Sainsburys as only one in stash now. Have some bars of soap in cupboard but don't fancy using those as I prefer liquid soap and showergel nowadays. Might give them to my Mum.
Hi verynewmoneysaver! LOL! Did you read my post earlier?
My DD gives me all her unwanted items to use up too, saves me a lot of money but because I can't bear to waste them it can become a bit :eek::eek:, because I end up having to use up her stuff she doesn't like as well as my own!!0 -
had some give aways today:
Avon nail polish drying spray - given to my neices, still got another can but couldn't find it, they can have it when i find it.
Natural Extracts Coconut conditioner. I've already got another one of these as OH bought me two when the were 40p a bottle. I've got loads of conditioner so donated these to my neices again who had a more pressing need. another £2 to go in the tin.
Think my Dove deodrant is on the last splurts so that will be another one soon.0 -
Hi Again
The new hand cream is really helping my skin. I had to have a small drip put in this morning (back of my hand) and even the nurse said my skin felt smooth:D
I'm getting my already thin hair cut very short into a pixie cut tomorrow as it should help and make me look not so bald:o...this in a positive reflection will mean less products:rotfl:...well you got to laugh or I'd go mad:eek::eek::eek:
