Like the idea of cutting them into chunks.
Do you think they'll last OK though, once out of their packaging, as long as they're in an airtight container???
I think they should be alright, if you have a look on youtube for lush collection videos theres lots of people on there who buy massive slabs of soaps and cut them up and store them that way.
Mines are all quite small (under £5 pieces) so i'm hoping by cutting them up i'll be more tempted to use them.0 -
Somebody said that this thread is a big temptation, I agree! Went to Body Shop today to check out seaweed cream - luckily I got dissappointed. This cream is full of silicons, which leave your skin feeling soft and velvety smooth, but stay on the surface instead of penetrating. That's why the Tea Tree one (another culprit) is only £6. Silicons are a barrier against pollution but don't let your skin breathe, and may clog it. They are not 'real' moisturisers, so I won't be buying. Yay! (if anybody wants to watch out for silicones, their names end with -ane or -one. If these ingredients are one of the first ones on a list, it means that there's a lot of them in the product).
Interesting, thanks. Is that what makes some creams/lotions seem greasy I wonder? They have silicone in them which doesn't go into the skin??
:T:T:T to BS Vit E cream which doesn't have any in :T:T:T:0 -
ooh i will take a peek now!
FRIEND: what did you do sunday arvo?
SELF: Oh I watched someone cutting up soap on Youtube
EDIT: Oh my word. This one makes me want to eat them! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sID_bDaDSpk
What great ideas. Thanks OP!0 -
Well done to those of us that are still refusing to give in to our cravings :T I was tempted to get/ask for some Lush stuff for my imminent birthday, but then discovered one of the items I wanted (sugar scrub) in a half price box I picked up just after Xmas. The other thing I really wanted (Buffy) I resisted asking my kids to pop into Lush (with boyfriend) and buy for me...still kicking myself, but at least I stood strong !
Thanks all for the Lush tips - I get the impression their are a few tips and tricks involved in using Lush products and getting the best use and lifespan out of them.
No UUs yet, but no INs either...0 -

No, on the contrary. Greasy products contain stuff that's supposed to go into the skin but it's too heavy. Especially a lot of natural substances with large particles ends up greasy, like shea butter etc. Silicones are added to cosmetics because they are not greasy, but they don't moisturise you long term. They are better for hair conditioners or foundation primers.0 -
