Cancelled it in the end and did it at Nationwide Autocentre, got it for £40 because I had a clubcard and got points too, small issue with headlights but passed fine otherwise. Much nearer to work and very friendly helpful service.2p off is still 2p off!0 -
The site could reap revenue from advertisers, could offer Test stations a fee "subscrition" which allowed them to input their own prices and turn off the customer update facility.
And there would be clear information informing the customer/users that they have rights under the VOSA scheme including certain circumstances leading to a free retest.
So all you entrepreneur HTML programmers out there... get working on my idea.
Needs something more beefy than HTML I'd imagine, like PHP MySql (have a general idea what they are and do but would take ages to write working project using them).
Something to add to the list would be customer reviews or ratings. Things such as "did unnecessary work".0 -
this link shows what can be looked at prior to the test and hopefully get these fixed before the test is done.

You could have a look on here see which is recommended in your area. No idea on the reliability but it seems a good idea

The closest place that website came up with is about 6 miles. I will see if there are any decent places closer to home before I go any further with that.Did owe £9,951.96

The Stonehaven Centre is behind the Shell Garage - go through Stonehaven and drive towards the Harbour. Instead of taking a left take a right and you will see the Shell Garage. Hope this helps. Be aware the guys there are real broad doric!!0

I live in the east side of Edinburgh and had been using the local (Portobello) Kwik Fit for year to MOT my 1996 Micra. Been paying £250-£500 the past few years for the MOT and repairs.
Tried the local garage near Joppa (Scott Vechicles 0131 669 2693) and it PASSED today! Dropped it off before work and collected it afterwards.
Was going to try the local Council one but it was the other side of Edinburgh and thought I'd try the local owned garage instead this year.
Now does that mean I just had incredibly good luck this year or does it mean in previous years Kwik Fit have been finding problems that didn't need fixed for the MOT????? :mad:0
