Good morning lovely ladies, just a quickie as I'm off to visit DM today and it's a 'tour of 3 M-ways' to get there.

It's official! 11st 3lb this morning, that midweek 1lb stayed off :D. May go back on as we always eat out when I visit but for now it's what the scales say..

    Have a lovely Sunday everyone,

Well done Sparrer. It's off now, so it still counts. ;)

Legend - don't beat yourself up about it. What matters is, that you know what you want now. You've had a treat, and got it out of your system, and you're on the right track again. Look at me - I had a few days blip the other week, and I lost 7lbs last week :) You CAN do it, I know you can.

Pepop - I'll have a pair of those gloves when you've finished your pair ;) They're lovely, you're so clever, I never managed to get the hang of Aran before.

    Hi girls

I haven't been on here for ages you all seem to be very positive and encouraging each other.

I always weigh myself first thing at home in my nightwear. So I wasn't as upset as I could have been when I got on the scales in the service station, late afternoon to find I'd gained 7lbs :(

The main reason I used them was for BMI and height as I'd always been uncertain how tall I was.
  • Hi All

just cought up with the thread - well done everyone. I've been ill for the last couple of weeks, unfortunatly I wasn't off my food I did however feel an incrediable urge to eat comfort foods - chocolate and stodge. Hoping to get back on track and hope that I've not put on.

Has anyone tried alli tablets or xenical . My doctor has suggested them along with a weight loss management clinic - I really fancy the clinic because you get free gym membership - need to find out when they are and if work will allow me a change of hours.

    Any info would be welcome

  • :hello: Just having a quick catch up with you all.

    Marg2k8 - :T :T a loss is still a loss - good luck for this week.

Hi Legendmum - you must feel lighter already after getting that lot off your chest. Sorry to hear that you have been having a tough week - we all get them sooner or later. I think you are probably doing the right thing by putting it behind you and making a fresh start this week. Please accept my apologies if it was me that led you astray with HCBs :o- so far I have resisted temptation - but how long will it last???? Hope you get back into it this week - keep us posted - we are behind you all the way.;)

Hope you enjoy your trip sparrer and all the eating out that you will have to endure - it's a tough life - but someone's got to do it. Well done with your loss too.

Hi dee - sorry to hear that you haven't been feeling too good and hope that you are getting back on track this week. My gp prescribed xenical/orlistat for me a few years back and I would say they were ok to a point. I didn't suffer any of the horrible side effects that people always speak of but I kept my fat intake down to an absolute minimum - this probably helped. I have now been referred by my gp to the local leisure centre gym - I can go twice a week and get a concessionary rate - works out a lot cheaper that the full rate membership. I didn't think I would enjoy it - but I've been going since September and I love it. There are specific times when we go which for me works well as I know that at certain times that's when I go to the gym. If I was able to go at any time - I would probably find a reason for not going if you know what I mean. Good luck with your ebay challenge too ;)

Well I went to the gym this morning for an exercise class and we tried these 'spinning bikes' - my first time - oh dear me. They were the most uncomfortable things to sit on. Apparently though if you are doing it right (pushing through your legs) it is less painful - so that's where I was going wrong - will be walking like John Wayne in the morning :rotfl:Hope it shows at this weeks weigh in.

Hope you all have a good week

if you sign up to ww online via quidco, they have £15 cash back, and sign up for 3 months & get registration free

not sure if you can still go to meetings if you sign up online though. personally i am really getting on well with the online version. i can add/edit/remove foods, plan meals and accurately count points.

Tomorrow will be my second weigh in, so fingers Xed that i have lost a lb or 2

I think that is just for the online membership. I find I need to go to meetings as well as otherwise I find reasons not to weigh myself, log points etc whereas when its a meeting and I have to stand infront of someone else it keeps me focused. Also it is quite nice to be able to share your sucess and get a little clap and a well done in the meetings hahaha I will use the onlines resources too though :D

Thanks elysia and blue_eyed_girl had a good day with DM, big roast beef dinner and left two roast tatties....then quickly ate them before the plates were taken away. Theory being if you eat them quickly you use more energy so they have less calories :o

deeceep only speaking from personal experience I was presc xenical and took two before the side effects started, decided they weren't for me as I really don't have time to sit on the loo all day ;). However I do know of people who have used/still use them without those effects. A case of trial and error, I think. As blue_eyed_girl said, if you have a set time to go to the gym it's not so much of a chore, just what you do on that day at that time.

I have three days left before my hol, leaving on Thurs pm so will pop in to record my last weigh in on Thursday am. Then it's 2 weeks of yummy curries - mostly fish cos that's what I like best and what they do best in Kerala :drool::drool:. I hear there's an ice-cream kiosk by the beach but you can't have ice cream on a low fat diet, right? Yeah, whatever :rotfl:

    Have a good week everyone,

Well 1 week until I join you all! No way am I starting 'sensible eating' before going to TGI's this coming Sunday! lol Also making sure I use up/eat/give away all the naughty stuff.

Glad to see how well you're all doing! Going to have a look to see if the WW quidco offer is worth doing at the moment!
