I buy the brochure bags. Think they look more professional although for a while I did use freezer bags. I tend to cut the bottom off the order forms in order to make them fit into the bags! Even customers commented on how nice they looked when I first started using them.

Thanks. Doesn't make sense that you can't fit the order forms in!

  • well I might be warming to Connects a little as I have had a new customer referred from there! :j Contacted her via email earlier on and she came straight back - I'm going to drop her a book off tomorrow and then I'm hopeful that she'll go onto the same "one stop" system that my F&F customers from Mum's old patch do. Something she did mention which I was surprised about, was that apparently she had previously ordered online - last time she placed an order it gave her an onscreen message afterwards to let her know about connects, and the fact that if she found herself a rep on there she would save the delivery charge. I was quite surprised, and impressed!

Collected just under half my books in tonight 12/29 and got 2 orders...but one of the customers has asked if she could take the book into work with her :D So I said I'd stick some extra order forms through (I'll stick some ring size sheets and maybe a lipstick sample or two in as well ;)) along with a note asking for the orders by the 14th ;) I've put cards through saying I'll call back in the morning for the books I didn't get back, and for them to leave them outside. I'm hoping to canvass the rest of my road tomorrow. Oh, and I've already hit my MOV :D I'm aiming for the HOV now as I'd like to try the anew stuff myself and thats the bonus for hitting my HOV:rotfl:

Can anyone give me some advise about putting the book through for pensioners? I had a couple today who said "there's nothing in there for us as nothing can make us look better looking" but I know them to say hello to (they're a few doors down from me) so didn't push them as it felt wrong, but did say that there is jewellery and gift things and if they wanted to have a look they only had to ask ;) I ask because there are lots of pensioners around here, and although I don't want to be taking their money off them, I figured if I could have them look at the jewellery and other gift sets for their families for gifts I could save them trips to the shops but I don't know how to "sell" it. :o

Well I best get the flyers sorted for putting books out tomorrow Think I'll juggle them a little though - and actually label the flyers as to what house I'm putting them through, I've had quite a few people not put their address down but tick that they want every other book, but with it being so dark I've not seen the tick until I've gotten home so don't know who done it :o I might have to take a torch with me tomorrow night :rotfl:

  • I'd consider choosing a book which has good deals on shower gel, or the bubble baths, and popping it through the door with a page flagged up and a note saying something like "Spotted that these were excellent value for money and thought you might be interested.." A lot of my older customers love the bubble baths in particular, although I do have one lady who must be in her 70's who loves Nailwear Pro stuff and seems to be working her way through the manicure range one product at a time! If you know them well enough to know if they have grandkids etc then there might occasionally be products that you think might suit for presents etc - maybe not put through every book, but just those that you feel might be of interest / help?

Personally it really bugs me when I get pensioners telling me not to give them a book as "there's nothing there that we could afford or need dear!" - I always feel like saying "Oh, really? Do you not wash then?!" Thankfully I have so far resisted the temptation. :rotfl:

Hi Nicki, I used to have territory with a lot of pensioners & I had a few order basics like bath bubbles and shower gel from me because it was easier to get it delivered to their door rather than carry it home from the shops. Obviously that won't apply to everyone, but perhaps something to mention? And as you say gifts. I wouldn't go for the hard sell, mention it and if they are willing, leave a book for them to flick through.

I have to say, generally that is the reason though why I don't ask people if they want a book or not, as they might say no outright, but if given the chance to flick through might find something interesting. Even if they don't order straight away its getting the products seen. I've found if people really don't want a book they'll make it known, either by leaving me a note or catching me as I collect the books, so then I strike them off my list. Everyone else is getting recanvassed every now and again incase they change their minds!

They have started making them slightly longer now :) You still can't flag pages but they will JUST fit in the orderforms now :)

DOH! Nicki... rookie error! hahaha... thats why i said about the "no more books".. asking them to actually fill their address in themselves! Dont worry... all id do is put the next book through to them all and put a note blaming the rain or something and asking do they mind just letting you know again that they only want ever other book? When i pop down tomorrow i'll try show you my system... but collecting in the dark can be a pain! :)

Dont be getting too good at this though!! You'll be stealing my place in the area rankings!!!:eek::eek:

oooh the new brochure bags are longer?? cool!! i remember suggesting months ago on here about cutting the bottoms off the forms... will have to look at the new batch i got wednesday and check! That'll save some more time :D

HT9 looks fab too!!! Although gutted they bringing out a "new improved" eyelift!! may stock up on the current version in beauty bonus sets and flog them too my customers at £10 each as i find when they "improve" stuff my customers hate the new versions! :(

Has anyone else ordered an empowerment braclet??? They are soooo nice!! Im not a braclet person but bought the empowerment necklace last year as its an important cause too me.. so thought id buy the new braclet too. Very pretty! Looks more than a fivers worth too!!:D
