I agree. On my first campaign I did terribly but this time I am nearly at the HOV for my second campaign:T I think it's a case of wanting to make it work and working at it which is what I am trying to do. It will take a a while to build up a reputation but I am determined to make a good go of it cos my contract is ending at the end of august and I want to have at least some money coming in.Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0 -

Good for you MrsGSR, that's exactly the attitude I started with back in June last year. I now have a customer base of over 100 people and this months sales were over £530Not only that but it is also now so much easier as I have a regular customer base and so the amount of time I actually put in is minimal in comparison to at the start when I was trying to build by customer base up. If you are motivated enough to keep going at the start through the first few campaigns and show your customers you are here to stay they become very loyal. I regularly get texts from my customers now asking me when the next book is out :T Good luck. x

Well my first campaign is looking good
I took the book into my voluntary job (in a school, 2.5 days a week) and already have £60 worth of orders from just 3 people.
Going to make some separate flyers up for them saying when I'll get the orders in (plan on leaving a book in the staffroom for the whole campaign
) and when I'll be delivering them as between school holidays and my working days, they won't be the same as those on my territory.
Tonight I'm picking up my first territory books, which I hope to put back out tomorrow morningI got my account number via text this morning so will be having a good mooch around the site later...but first I'll need to tackle my massive ironing pile so I can have the armchair back
Just a couple of quick questions: When ordering through vistaprint how can you take up the frreebie offers yet still get the cashback? I know I read it on here somewhere but I can't remember what was said or find it again:o
Also is it worth me opening a proper business account to pay the money into? I was thinking a completely separate account to my personal one (with a card that can be used if needs be) is the sensible option on account of taxes etc. Or would a bog standard personal account be okay?
Right, off to make a dent in the ironing pile when I've finished catching up on hereCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -

Yes I can see you have to put in the hardwork in the first few campaigns to get your customers. I have another 26 house to canvas on my area then I am going to recanvas the first road again. Despite the fact in my first week I had someone come out of their house and have a go at me for daring to write in my calling book, then last week another rep canvas my house, then have a book stolen from another customer it has made me quite thick skinned early on. This thread has been so useful to help give me the confidence to keep on with it.Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0 -
Hi nicki, well done on your first orders.
It was me that mentioned Quidco.
I can send you a referral for Quidco, if you are not already signed up. Sign up with them, then type in Vistaprint in the search box, then there should be 2 options.
£5 for all other sales £2.50 for free offers
so you can still get the free offers, but get £2.50 cashback for it. This kinda helps with the P&p.
but if this is your first time with Quidco, there is a £5 admin charge, so anything after you have earnt their £5 admin charge is yours.
I opened a separate basic current account with a debit card just for my avon. It helps to keep it separate from your normal account. It is easier to show your accounts than having to indicate each item on your personal account.0 -
Well Nicki! sounds like you are going great guns already. I work in a school but someone there already does Avon so I can't really do it, but I'm hoping to get hubby to take a book into work and see if we get some orders from there.
I'm just using my account, I have changed accounts though cos my old bank doesn't have a branch here and would have to drive 10 or 20 miles just to pay money in! need to register as self employed today thats on todays to do list!Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0 -
Someone used to do it at the school as well but they left and apparently the book doesn't show up very often at all. Since I'm there all the time I'm a more reliable rep
Also last year I took a book in for my sis & got her a couple of orders then :rotfl:
Thanks for the information about Quidco and the bank account. I haven't the energy to walk to the bank today (half hour walk each way or £3.50 on the bus!) so I'll go Monday on my next full day off. At least then I can have online access to all my accounts thenCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Topcashback is £5.05 also, free orders limited to one per month.
I just ordered a stamp so with cashback I would make about 90p on it!Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0
