  • Have a customer, who Sod's Law now decides that their fave product is the men's Mesmerise Deo Body Spray. Can't see it in any of my brochures.... Anyone any idea if this is likely to come available again and, if so, in which campaign (or anyone got any in their Bargain Box)? Don't want to compromise the integrity of this thread so if the latter, please PM me.

    Thanks for any/all info.

  • Someone posted earlier (sorry, can't remember who) that they let their customers choose which free gift they want i.e. from the 99p in their brochure (or even better from 99p goods available on back-order i.e. so they think you're paying a lot more ;) )

hmmm, i'll give it a go anyway, hopefully my customers will be kind to me hehe.

What's your current campaign? I'll see if I can make a few suggestions.

I have 4 customers who use mezmerise. It's discontinued - i emailed Avon. Grrrrr!!!

One customer said wilderness smells a bit like it. I've been buying all the alternatives & letting the customers try them out.

Thanks. Actually I don't like Mesmerize anyway so no accounting for taste! I did suggest Wilderness and/or the Musk - both of which I think smell lovely - but got really short shrift from his wife. :rotfl:

Guess it'll pop up again sooner or later, in which case I'll encourage him to stock up.;)

I do that as well but don't use a back brochure. Or you come unstuck on the back brochure customers!

Choose a free gift - I used to make a list of 6 cheap products from backorder and show those to current people as their free gifts, and then the backorder people had a choice of 6 free gifts that were cheap in the current brochure. Sometimes if I ran out of flyers and couldn't be bothered to print them out on the good printer in my husband's office I just put a flyer in so that someone on current was offered free gifts that they could see were cheap in the current brochure. Didn't really work enticing new customers anyway so I've stopped doing it. Shortlisting the products and making the flyers was a bit time-consuming.

Mesmerise - I think I've seen these in HT clearance. HT9 has just become available and there's a couple of Mesmerise in there: http://www.e-pages.dk/uk_avon/287 Might have been in previous HTs as well.
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

Thanks, you're a star! :T Least I can tell him that they'll be available in C7.

As for the flyers, I've never done any per se.... Think 'my lot' are just lazy; half the time they don't even read the book let alone any other notes I do i.e. to remind them when I'm collecting/delivering!

Evening all, have just gone and agreed to going prospecting with my SL on Friday in the centre of town and am now bricking myself :eek::eek:

If anyone has any tips, or ideas etc as to how to approach people and how to start off without scaring people away, they would be greatfully received

You'll find it easier once you're there, I was dead nervous the first time but doesn't bother me now. If you have any samples, I attach samples to my info and hand them out - then you can say to people "would you like a free avon sample" - gives you chance to give them your details and maybe strike up a conversation.

Ok...so all SL know theres various excuses people will use for making an appointment & then cancelling, or signing then not placing an order...I've had most in my time:
haven't the time....no orders....don't like it.....husband says I can't.....etc etc - all of which can obviously be genuine....and of course theres those that just blantently don't bother and think the books will deliver themselves.

Well I had a new one tonight which made me chuckle,

"didn't realise there was so much to it":rotfl:

She was only doing f&f....how is there a lot to that?!?! Give books to the people you know, and then ask for them back after a week or so....best excuse I've heard in a while lol. Lady is very intelligent, got a decent job etc so it didn't half make me chuckle. If she had territory I could understand it, but not f&f!
